We saw this ancient monuments on our visit to the Saint Rémy de Provence. This was part of the Roman road through the South of France. There were Roman ruins beyond which we didn’t explore.

Right outside the entrance to Glanum’s ruins these glorious structures are free to wonder at. The stonework is still in good condition but the seem somehow forgotten tucked between the road and the car park. Nice spot for a picnic though.

We gave up on St Remy itself as it looked overcrowded on a Sunday, with nowhere to park.
These two ruins look a bit weird, just stuck in a field but they’re in great condition.
Very easy to park, good timing as on our own til a coach party arrived just as we were leaving.

Right outside the town of Saint Remy next to the asylum where Van Gogh was committed are some great Roman ruins. The triumphal arch and mausoleum were really cool looking with great details. You can also wander around the lovely town of Saint Remy too.

Incredibly preserved roman ruins built between the 4th and 2nd century BC as the gateway to Glanum, the wealthy Roman Town predating St Remy. If you are in the area it is well worth taking the time to visit les antiques and Glanum.

These ruins are available to the public in an open space. I visited with my family on the way to Glanum and we enjoyed getting an up close view. It was a nice addition to our visit to the Van Gogh walk and Glanum.

Five on my Arch tour. This smaller arch is really cool with lots of detail all over. Only arch I took time to try different filters on my camera. It's nice place to have a picnic if you got time.

Yes...you want to see these, but do not come here just to see this pair of objects. Combine the experience with a visit to the Glanum and Monastery Saint-Paul de Mausole

A well-preserved mausoleum and arch dating back to 40 BCE built by the Romans. A mark of the Roman civilization that reached much of Europe.
