This is off the main tourist route, but well worth a visit. You can easily walk from the harbor and that, in itself, is interesting. This was built to celebrate the canal that brought water to Marseille and is over the top amazing. There is...More

To get here you must pass through some less savory areas of Marseille, but worth the cab ride for sure

If time is short with being only to see a handful of sites while in Marseille, make sure Palais Longchamp is at the top of the list. It is a beautiful monument commemorating the arrival of water to the city, via the Marseille Canal. The...More

A very mixed review. This is a cheap tram ride from near to the old port where we were staying and the tram ride was great. Rather than get off at the tram stop near to the Palais we decided to go one stop further...More

We visited this palace by foot and on a budget so sadly we did not see the museums, although we did admire the beautiful building and it's surroundings. The park just behind it is a perfect picnic stop and contains a playground for younger children.

This is a monument that celebrates the construction of Marseille’s canal, and it truly is extraordinary to behold. It’s statues and fountains are complemented by the beautiful grounds on which it is situated. Great place for a stroll, a picnic, or people-watching.

We were under the impression that we were going to tour a palace. That's not what this offers. Palais Longchamp, while beautiful on the outside, is actually two museums, one of which was open when we were there. The two ticket sellers didn't speak English...More

After having lunch at Tapas Rojas (reviewed previously), the trek to Palais Longchamp was only a few minutes and this place had a very high wow factor! According to Wikipedia “The Palais Longchamp is a monument in the 4th arrondissement of Marseille, France. It houses...More

Thank you, Jas, for your response. We will take tram to go to Notre Dam Cathedral, and then back to old town. Probably will be able to find another tram or metro to go to Palais Longchamp at Vieux Port. Thanks again.
