I will not doubt the historical importance and the importance of this collection of bories. But after paying 6 Euro for this at the entrance, you would at least expect a series of well presented materials to really get into the lives in the ancient...More

6 euros per person, free parking and it takes about 30-40 minutes including a little movie. No guided tour is offered. We learned that those houses were used until the late 19th century. They were abandoned and then rediscovered in the 70s, and fixed. We...More

interesting place to visit close to Gordes . The place is authentic - houses hundreds years old.... I recommend to bike over there since the road is very narrow

Detoured here from the main road to Gordes. The drive in/out might be considered more of an adventure than the site itself. Basically a small village of dry stone laid buildings. Easy to dismantle and move by farmers/herders. Fairly interesting but not for everyone. Does...More

We enjoyed how quiet it was, especially since we like architecture,...More

Try to choose a time and date when there are not too many visitors and this adds to the atmosphere and intrigue. If you have children, they will find it fascinating, because they can enter the small houses (Bories). On a warm, dry day, it...More

A few kilometers from Gordes, this is a site where you can see a small village from the 1700's ( at least this is what I understood). Well preserved, interesting place , should work great for children.

Other than the movie, the visit is entirely outside. It was quite warm the day we visited. The movie gave and interesting history and there are multiple bories to visit. It was neat to see how the stones were put together in the restoration. We...More
