This ancient chapel belongs to the local fishermen and is I still used on for special feast days. I was deeply moved by the simplicity his line drawings of fishermen and women. Subtle colours creating air and light and joy. Recommended if you love art....More

Kids are free and 3 euro per adult seems fair to keep this place looking so pristine. Some wonderful chalk pictures of various scenes in the life of St Peter...it's worth lingering a little while as there is something about the eyes of the characters...More

Amazing art, well worth a visit. Nothing like what I was expecting, thank you Villefranche for keeping this special place so well looked after.

There is a small fee but even if you are not at all religious (like I'm not) you should see the inside of this small chapelle as the decorations by Jean Cocteau are really unique.

This is a tiny "art gallery" inside a lovely seaside chapel. Read up on the interior artist, Jean Cocteau (1889-1963), before visiting. The central location makes it a perfect place to visit while in Villefranche Sur Mer. The small entrance fee is fair.

Beautiful exterior of this very small chapelle but unable to get in as it seemed to be closed. Quite unusual I thought given that there was a cruise ship in port.

The chapel's walls were painted by Jean Cocteau and it is very Cocteau. The chapel is tiny but certainly worth swinging by if you are in Villefranche. A woman at the door collects a 3 Euro fee which is a donation for the fishermen. This...More

We were doing a cultural and gastronomic tour of Côte d'Azur and stayed at Welcome Hotel ( see review) because of the connection with Jean Cocteau. We were disappointed that Villa Santo Sospir was not open until September, but what we didn't expect was to...More
