We flew from Hungary to Nice (and drove to St Tropez) only to visit this museum. It had an exhibition of the neo-impressionist painter Henri-Edmond Cross (open until 14/11/2023) and this alone was worth the trip. It was breath-taking. The permanent collection of the museum is small but also extremely interesting, many gorgeous painting by well-known and lesser-known neo-impressionists. If you can, avoid going by car, parking was quite a hassle around the museum.

Loved the museum. Is not so big, you can spend 1-2 hours to visit and see some paintings not very well known, even if the painters are. also a nice place to hide from the big heat outside at noon.

I found the collection of this lovely chapel turned into a museum, a bit disappointing, especially when compared with the quality of the Musee d Histoire Maritime up the hill.
Le Musee de L Annonciade is however pleasant, and works are well presented, even if only minor works .
I understand that this museum features works by artists who have lived in St. Tropez, but they are far from masterpieces. Pointillism is over represented with Signac. Amongst the best works, a Nude by Bonnard, a paysage by Vlaminck, and some sculptures by Maillol.

Paintings of St Tropez & surroundings by famous artists who lived & painted there. Wonderful to actually see the sites they painted right outside the door.

An impressive museum, which includes artwork from the 19th and 20th centuries. At that time, Saint Tropez was one of the most attractive towns in the eyes of the painters, seeking artistic inspiration in France.

Opening hours: Tuesdays to Sundays from 10am to 6pm.

How long should you visit? Between half an hour and an hour.

This is a small museum, but has an impressive collection of Matisse, Delacroix and Seurat, as well as other impressionists. Many of the paintings of are the local area. The museum is conveniently located in the harbor. Cost was only 6 Euros. Outside, we met the French Chess Champion, Mirsad Hadzikaric, who is also a painter. He lives in St. Tropez.

A must see in St Tropez. A marvellous collection of artists including Signac, Van Dongen, Bonnard, Marquet, Camoin, Malliol, Matisse, Vlaminck and Delacroix to recall a few. And it’s beautifully air-conditioned.

This is an incredibly interesting and diverse collection. Perhaps the best 6€ museum ever. From impressionist to pointillist it’s so well presented. The Picasso room displaying his ceramics was very good. The building itself is architecturally outstanding.
