We have visited this place many times over the years and loved it so much that we have always returned. We visited 2022 for the first time in five years and was very disappointed. The place was over crowded, not as clean as it used to be and the people were not friendly at all. We visited lots of shops for gifts and ice cream etc and tried our best to communicate in what little French we know but the people were unfriendly and unhelpful. We visited restaurants and were met with the same, if not worse, appalling service. In one restaurant we were almost ignored as we ordered our modules and frites, the waiter being more interested in what was going on around him than taking our order. When it came it came without bread and we had to ask for it, they brought three small pieces for four adults👎
I don’t think we will be returning 😤

This Marina has been gained onto the marsches at the deep end of St Tropez bay. It was a bet from the famous architect Francois Spoerry to build a luxury marina allowing the owners homes right on the water the closest to their boats.
Very quickly success came, and it was called the French Riviera's little Venice.
The development went on and today what is called a fisherman home sells about 1 million $ for the smallest.
There is a controled access but the village is open to public and you can have a tour on a water coach through the canals.
About 50 years later the village is in pristine condition, very well maintained looks like new.
On the main village plazza or along some canals you finds many restaurants or cafés à la française.

I've been coming here for twenty years and it never fails to impress, though has become undeniably touristy in recent years. In summer months, expect plenty of instagramming couples on the main bridge. That said, the church remains well worth a visit for its commanding vistas (1 euro charge, only accepts cash) and stunning interior (free of charge). You can rent a boat or take a guided boat tour around. Main tourist area is Port Grimaud I, but also visit Port Grimaud II and Port Grimaud III if you can for a crowd-free insight into the lives of the (ridiculously)moneyed people who live here.
Worth a visit when on the Golfe de Saint Tropez.

After 25 years, I'm finally back in Port Grimaud. I knew it from my youth and childhood and have loved the place ever since. This year we rented a holiday apartment on Place François Spoerry. The place is still beautiful and well-kept, but the noise from motorbikes and posers on the nearby Route du Littoral is unbearable! Day and night (non-stop!) this unnecessary noise from tuned and high-powered vehicles makes the place hell. You can only sleep with the windows closed and sitting on the balcony is anything but relaxing. On the beach in Port Grimaud, which is beautiful, you can hear the noise from the entire coastal road in the Gulf of St. Tropez. That's really crazy! Something needs to be done urgently! Noise barriers around Port Grimaud on the Route du Littoral, more traffic controls, speed cameras like in Paris or, best of all, a driving ban for vehicles that are too loud, like the one for motorbikes in Austria/Tyrol. I think it's a real shame, but if nothing changes, this will be our last holiday in Port Grimaud! 5 stars for the beautiful place, zero stars for the noise.

Lovely place to visit if you’re staying in Ste Maxime or St Tropez area. We went there by Les Bateaux Verts and enjoyed a relaxed lunch in one of the waterside restaurants. I’d recommend strolling around the pretty streets, admiring the gorgeous houses that line the waterways

The Port Grimaud car park at the price of 3.70 per hour is a scam with no limits. What a shame for tourism, maximum 3 hours and then every 15 minutes it’s the ax! If you decide to eat and take your time during the day, it will cost you a lot.

This is just a big Florida pre-planned community on the canals. There is nothing exciting here except how freaking expensive the homes are and how BIG the yachts are -- truly overshadowing the homes.
What a waste of time to schlepp out here. And definitely not worth the cost of the "boat ride" through the canals. They even charge to use restrooms here so be sure to have a Euro with you.
The highlight of our tour was ice cream as a treat.

Hello and thank you for visiting Port Grimaud. We're sorry you didn't enjoy discovering it.
We can't disagree about the prices, they are those of the French Riviera and of beautiful and popular places. We hope that you have been able to discover other places that correspond more closely to your interests so that you can enjoy your stay!

When we enter the parking lot at port Grimaud we do not know how long we will need to visit this place known as little Venice.
We decide to pay 2.5 hours and if it is needed longer, we will pay extra.
Through the "tunnel" with the inscription of the place we walk into the village, which mainly consists of restaurants and shops next to the houses on the water with of course the boats that lie in front of it. After a good hour we had seen it and we moved on.

Hallo,
Vriendelijke groeten

A must-do visit if you are in the area.
A small town cut off from the world with its canals and its calm… it’s really very pretty. It's good to stroll there, eat an ice cream or even take a boat trip.
Special mention for the huge car park which allows you to park near the entrance. It has a cost (around €14 for a little over three hours) but it's worth it!!! :)

The marketing term “Venise Provençale” is usurped. The buildings and bridges are made of concrete, without any real charm. This evokes an artificially created village like we see in amusement parks, especially as bars, ice cream parlors and restaurants follow one another without there really being anything to visit or see. If you walk a little further, it becomes calmer, less "troublesome", but is not particularly worth a visit in our opinion.

Bonjour,

Hi, I'm thinking of staying at the Eurocamp site nearby, and hoping to avoid hiring a car, are there any reasonably sized supermarkets in Port Grimaud?
Written 4 August 2019
Not sure about from airport as we were in our motorhome if you do however go to this supermarket be careful what taxi service you use as we got one through the security back into port Grimaud and he wanted 100 euros which I found very unreasonable eventually cost us 40 euros

Bonjour

I’m thinking of driving into Ste Maxime and leaving my car there - from here I’d like to visit Port Grimaud and St. Tropez and then ending back in Ste Maxime to collect our car - can I get one boat and hop off or are they different routes?
Thanks
Written 28 April 2019
Hi ! As told you Chowsays, taking the boat is a really good idea to reach S Tropez or Port Grimaud.
The company is "Les Bateaux Verts" right on St Maxime Port

Hi there I am visiting Port Grimaud in c couple of weeks and was wondering what the train or bus service is like to Cannes, Nice etc as I have heard the traffic is awful
Written 20 June 2016
Buses are slow as the traffic is awful. The trains avoid this. However, there's a need to move by bus from saint Raphael to Port Grimaud, regardless of intended destination.
