This railway journey starts not at the main railway station in Nice, but behind it. So allow some time to find this small station! This railway is the only left of the small railways here and is important for the locals. The scenery is fabulous...More

In season, the middle leg has a steam engine. All year, the train runs for 3 hours each way through spectacular scenery. Friends had recommended it to us. We were not disappointed. We chose to break for a long lunch in the mountain village of...More

The company who run Le Petit train de Provence are called Les Chemins de Fer de Provence, a private company with no connection to SNCF. Seemingly this train trip also has another name, "Le Train des Pignes", which comes from the pinecones, once used for...More

The Train few Pignes does not run along the coast, it goes inland. The normal SNCF trains run along the coast.

I'd tried to visit this railway in the past, but unluckily I misjudged the timings, so this year I tried a local trip as far as Colomars, very basic one car train, but a cheap ride out of Nice to the banks of the river...More

This train ride was one of the non forgettable ones in our travel history. But it is not the train that is worthwhile talking about, the train was old noisy and the tracks were not smooth nore comfortable. The scenery from the train was amazing...More
