Lovely stop if you are visiting the Matisse museum or the archeological site nearby. Free. No facilities although there are some in the city park next door.

This is a charming garden now run by the Ville de Nice that has great views of the city of Nice. If you're visiting the Matisse Museum or the Archeological Museum, you really should cross the park and visit this nice garden. The Church of the Cimiez Monastery is also quite nice to visit and light a candle in.

The monastery itself has little to offer as an attraction (which obviously is not it's primary purpose) but the gardens are a surprise, being more the sort of thing you would expect to find in a chateau. There is rather a nice formal Italian terrace and several colourful flowerbeds. Great views over the city towards the Med. Its good to include as part of a stroll around the other attractions in Cimiez. On its own its probably worth 30 minutes or so.

This place is very relaxing and is nice and quiet; a big contrast to the main areas of Nice. There are nice views overlooking the city.

The walk to get up to the monastery is a fair walk, though there are other options such as the bus.

Its a pleasant walk and took about 30-40 minutes from the old town and let's you see more of the city. The gardens are quite small but they are lovely none the less. When we visited there weren't many people there and those that were were locals. Its a lovely spot for lunch or just to walk through to go to the monastery or museums.

Your can take your time and see the gardens in ten minutes if you want or you can sit and enjoy the sun and atmosphere and be there for an hour or more.

The garden is awesome, oldest on the Riviera. It's very beautiful and quiet.
Beautiful flowerbeds in a wonderful location. The square outside offers an outstanding view and features a marble cross.

We spent an afternoon wandering around the park. It is clean and well maintained. It is very close to the Matisse Museum. It's a very nice place to spend a relaxing afternoon.

After visiting the Matisse Museum and the Archeological Museum, this is a restful place to walk and enjoy the gardens and the views. There are both olive and citrus trees, lots of flowers and an herb garden. The roses here are scented. In so many public gardens they go for disease resitance and colour, forgetting that the best thing about a rose is its scent.

Beautiful tranquil garden with spectacular views of the city and hills. You can walk through the monk's chapel, and wander through the adjacent garden of olive trees. The Matisse Museum is only steps away.
