Walking to and around the park did not feel too exciting. I was probably most intrigued to see the fort, and disappointed that all you could see was the outside of that. But the views to the surrounding areas, as you might expect for where a fort has been built, are amazing. But I don't think I'd bother walking there from the centre of Nice again just for the view. But perhaps to see inside the fort if there was a chance.

Wonderful views across Nice and Cap Ferrat and very peaceful walks up there. The bus runs right to the top every half hour and even early evening so you can view Nice by night too. 14 bus from centre.
One of my favourite spots in Nice.

Mont Boron is NOT to be confused with Castle Hill which is on the opposite (West) side of Nice port. Mt Boron offers better panoramic views over Promenade des Anglais than from Castle Hill, and also great views looking East over the Bay of Villefranche, the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, Cap Ferrat and further East towards Eze. There is nowhere to buy anything to drink or eat so at least take your own water (especially in Summer) if you intend to spend any time up there. There are plenty of benches and so great for a picnic overlooking the sea but better still, if you can cope, is the "Tour de Mont Boron" circular walk which takes around 2.5 hours starting from sea level close to the "La Reserve" restaurant on Boulevard Franck Pilatte. It does include climbing 335 steps but that makes for a good combination of exercise, refreshing sea air, and the opportunity to walk between some beautifully designed and built residences to add to the great views when you arrive at the top. Take your swimming gear with you and have a cooling sea dip when you return to the "start". You'll deserve it.

To visit Mont Boron, take the number 14 bus from Nice, costing 1 to 1.5 Euro, to the top and then walk down one of the numerous paths back to the main coastal road between Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer. Amazing vegetation alongside the paths and, on a clear day, magnificent long distance views; west towards Nice and Antibes and east towards Cap Ferat and Monaco. After reaching the main road, cross over to the seaward side at the junction near the Carrefour supermarket (chilled drinks available there), take the Avenue du Cap-de-Nice which leads down to numerous steps that descend to the sea shore and then walk along the bord de la mere back into Nice. A lovely 3.5 to 4 miles walk, taking 2 to 3 hours with stops for refreshments, whilst sitting to admire the views.

Beautiful woodland with numerous paths, mostly frequented by locals. Incredible aroma of plants and scorched grass in July/ August. Great place to cycle, or run in the early morning before it gets hot. Elevation ensures it is cooler, with better air quakity than central Nice. Bus No 14 will take you in to the middle of the park. Safe location. Police Municipal mounted unit are based there. Lots of police cameras ensure public order, and safety. Beautiful views to the east over Villenfranche. Drinkable spring water fountain adjacent to the bus stop. Elton John has a Villa with a beautiful garden n the middle of the park. Mostly retired men, and some women play Boule under the shade of trees. Families with young kids picnic here each weekend. Not a place to keep your teenager happy. One of my favourite places in Nice

Take tram to Nice harbour then use same ticket to take bus 81 or 100 to Villefranche sur mer. There are stairs near the Princess Grace memorial. Once you have walked the steps you will be under tree cover the whole way. The views of Villefranche from the castle are spectacular

My boyfriend and I spent the day looking around Nice before our flight home. This parcel was gorgeous! Well maintained, beautiful waterfalls and fantastic views! Be sure to use the lift located on the main street to make the views even more enjoyable rather than struggling to catch your breath!

Well worth the 30 minute bus journey and one of highlights of our holiday. After a leisurely stroll around the area and the fort (Mont Alban), we ventured down the slope towards Villefranche. This walk was through woodland and there were opportunities to stray away from the path for a mini-adventure (e.g. the obstacle course). Definitely recommended.

Take the "Petite Tram" up the hill to the cathedral on the mountain and be rewarded by the wonderful view of the whole city set out below. The church itself is also worth a look and you can also catch a glimpse of the distant snow covered Alps

Hi, I'm coming to Nice in June and I was just wondering if there's a payment before entering the Parc Forestier du Mont-Boron. Also is it possible to bring a picnic inside?
Thanks so much

Hi
First time visiting Nice. Can someone please inform how challenging is the climb up and is there a train service/lift coming down if we want to depart there after a sunset? Any ideas on transport cost?
Thank you in advance
