All the beaches in Nice are pebbles beaches, not sandy ones. So before going buy the special rubber soil shoes to enter the sea and not to hurt your feet. The beach has its bar and you can hire your parasol and sunbeds.
Traditional blue chairs are still used along the promenade to people watch and I enjoyed watching a Race for Cancer taking place on the promenade. Lovely restaurants and ice cream parlours along the sea front and glorious weather of course

We were so impressed with the colors of the water. On the other hand we were not prepared for the rocky beach. It was beautiful and you didn't have the typical issues of bringing sand home but you definitely need to use a beach chair.

I did not hear of any partial day pricing. have fun!
