Lovely Nice

Down the castle hill you'll reach the sea and Anglais plague, with a bike ride road and pedestrian walkways. Marvelous suny day forever we remember.

And there they were, the infamous Blue Chairs of the Promenade de Anglais in Nice, lined up like windswept deckchairs on a windy Skegness beach. Great in theory and in photos, but in reality lacking that je ne sais quoi that would inspire me to actually sit on them. Hard slatted chairs from where you can contemplate the Mediterranean coast,... More

Originally built in 19th century to satisfy the British tourists' need to walk, the promenade now actually extends 8km. Now you can also go by bike (there is a Nice vélib) and part of it is accessible by bus. Cafés city-side and a couple on the beach itself, or you can BYO a sandwich and sit on one of the... More

I love France so much that I bought a villa here.Ive been coming here since I was 23 years old,Im now 53. The Promenade des Anglais is unlike any where else, its magic comes from beautiful people who have visited over the years, and like me instantly fell in love.Take time to research Isadora Duncan who died in her Bugatti on... You can walk for kilometers along the sea from one end to the other. The color of the sea is an extraordinarily beautiful blue-green. The Promenade is alive with beach dwellers, roller bladers. A must-see when you are in Nice.

A long stroll before or after lunch, the promenade is the place. Long, wide, fringed by the med, from the eastern end, it offers some of the best views of Nice.

Beautiful city, full of charming people and wonderful back streets to explore. Lovely little cafes and restaurants and street markets. We went in October and it was lovely and warm, about 25 degrees which was perfect for wondering round the city and swimming in the sea. Fairly cheap too,we stayed in gorgeous apartment tucked away in the old town with stunning... More

We would totally recommend booking a hotel on the promenade as it's easily accessible from Nice airport by bus and we actually got off earlier than we should so enjoyed a relaxing walk with beautiful scenery.

Nothing much to tell, but you can't come to Nice and not stroll along here, I prefer the end of the day, early evening. Although if you like jogging, this is the more than perfect spot for your morning run...
