Sweet and beautiful trip to Old Eze
Eze is tiny and medieval, on top of a mountain (don’t think the seaside Eze is the same thing!) You can park near the tennis club and walk down 25 mins to the old town and take your time going down every nook and cranny. Jardín Exotique is closed as of Nov, so don’t buy tickets. A sweet and small flash into old history, few stairs. A sweet visit. We had lunch at the main (and only?) intersection, truffle chicken sandwich was delicious and staff was friendly. Took our baguette sandwich to go. Highly recommend!

    Nice views and scenery
Made a stop here as part of tour to visit this little village and see the 5* hotel and its surroundings. Got to walk around and see the nice scenery and Ariel views even though it was a cloudy day. This is a forest garden at the top which you have to pay to go in and see we didn’t have the time so missed out on that unfortunately. Just be prepared to walk and climb a lot. A good work out it is.

    Charming Old Town Eze
We walked up to the top, criss-crossing most of the old town as we went. Really charming place with little evidence of anyone actually living there and quite a few airbnb key boxes on doors. Narrow, steep streets not for the unfit but worth the effort if you like old towns. The expensive restaurants/hotels with great views were closed for the season but at every turn there was an amazing lookout. A few places were open, a mix of tourist tat and original crafts.

    Lovely but crowded
Eze village is lovely although that does mean it's packed with tourists and the charm is somewhat offset by the crowds. The narrow, winding cobbled streets lead ever upwards eventually reaching the entrance to the Jardin Exotique at the top, which is a must-see for the amazing views. There are lots of little art and craft shops and galleries along the way and many restaurants so you could easily spend a whole day exploring.

Beautiful village, worth a visit, but if travelling by bus, make sure you have a pre- loaded travel card to cover return
Beautiful village to explore. We were staying in Nice and we took bus 82 up to Eze Village. Bus was packed by the time we got on so be prepared to stand for 30 minutes or so. Make sure you have a pre-loaded travel card as the bus driver will charge more if you don’t. The bus driver coming back was very rude as he spoke loudly and rudely to a couple in front of us. When I also needed to pay for a bus ticket he took cash, but never gave us an actual ticket! I didn’t enjoy this experience travelling to Eze but the village itself is lovely to see. Where comfortable walking shoes! It can get quite hilly in places and there are lots of steps, but its manageable. The gardens are a must see if you are there with great views. Costs 8 Euros per person to enter. Beware of the jam/ nougat selling shop! It looks very enticing until the staff try to start selling you slices of jam but won’t give any indication on the price! Avoid if you can!

We had lunch at La Chevre d’Or and were smitten with the restaurant and Eze. I suppose everyone who visits here for the first time feels the same. Other than savor the views, I’m not sure there’s a lot more to do here but I would highly suggest staying at Chateau de La Chevre d’Or. The rooms have remarkable views, the pools have remarkable views, the many dining areas have remarkable views. It’s all so remarkable! The hotel and restaurant staff were all so nice. It's such a beautiful place, you could easily mesmerize yourself into permanently gazing out at the incredible scenery below. Quite the special place.

Well worth the walk up to the top of the hill for a very unique setting of a pedestrian only narrow alleys. Unique shops and eateries to visit. A must see when in the area. There are some options of a drive up to at least the church for those that can't walk up.

We find on the internet a relay parking for 6 euros the day with 1 entrance to the exotic garden but when we arrive the guard informs us that they have changed the rates (10 euros and no entrance). As we arrived in the afternoon he advises us a parking closer to 2 euros an hour but when we arrive it is 4 euros for an hour!!!!
Arriving in the village you still have to pay 8 euros to have the most beautiful views because you have to go through the exotic garden.
Honestly we visited villages much more beautiful than this one without having to pay as much (St Paul de Vence)
A real disappointment

We had been to Eze over 15 years ago on a cruise and were immediately charmed by it. So when we decided to take a 3 week road trip through the south of France, of course Eze was on our list. And it remains exactly as we remembered it.

The old town is a maze of twisting and turning pathways with interesting boutiques and even hotels carved directly into the mountain. Space in Eze is small, so nothing is grand (with the exception of the church) but everything is charming.

NOTE: Eze has become an even more popular tourist destination and the crowds can be completely overwhelming (especially for a small village). Arrive as early in the morning as possible...parking is challenging and by noon, there are too many tourists/tour groups to move comfortably through the old village.

My wife and I were staying in Nice for a month. We visited several local villages along the Cote D’Azure, and this was a favorite. It is exceptionally hilly, and high above the Mediterranean with breathtaking views and wonderful local artisan shops and restaurants. The art work and jewelry are particularly attractive. We had lunch at Chateau Eza which was an incredible experience that would highly recommend. Best way to get there is by bus from Nice. Believe it is the number 82. We took the train and then had to get on a bus anyway to get up to the village so better off just getting on the bus from Nice. Lots of hilly walking at altitude so need to be in good walking condition. But the walkways surrounded by stone walls and the shops in cave-like carve outs are unique and beautifully done. A definite must like visiting St Paul de Vence if in or around Nice anytime of year

Beautiful village. They advised us to go and ‘spend an evening’ to see the bay of Beaulieu and not only to us as many ramshackle tourists wandered around the small town in search of a viewpoint that we discovered to be inside the Exotic Gardens (admission fee) closing at 8 pm!
Viewpoint real a parking lot just before Eze (coming from Beaulieu )
You have to know what to expect before going to Eze...

I stopped by Menton on my way to Monaco after seeing the Lemon Festival. The villages built on steep cliffs or rocky mountains as fortresses (forts) to protect against attacks from the sea since the Middle Ages are commonly called "eagle's nest villages", and it is said that the name comes from the resemblance of "eagle's nests" built on mountains or cliffs to protect eggs and chicks. "Eze Village" is one of the most representative eagle's nest villages, and it is very popular because it can be entered by large buses. Although it is an old village, it has been completely touristed, and most of it is shops and restaurants selling souvenirs, but it has been cleverly renovated and the medieval atmosphere spreading through the narrow alleys is quite fun. From the tropical botanical garden near the top, you can see a magnificent view of the Mediterranean Sea and the mountains. It was supposed to be a deep blue sea and sky, but unfortunately it was cloudy and quite disappointing!

I have been coming to Eze since my childhood...rarely, but always with great emotion because I remember a village full of charm. However, everything comes to an end and the charm is gone today. Impossible to see the coast below the village with the sea. To do this you have to go to a (luxury) restaurant or visit the exotic garden. The streets are full of chic, pseudo-artistic boutiques and Fragonard and Gallimard were smart because they sensed the tourist who is only looking to treat themselves to a piece of the postcard. Expensive parking and lots of empty spaces reserved for owners who are never there, paid public toilets, streets with Instagram girls... Well, if I were a dog, I wouldn't have hesitated to treat myself to the local street lamp ...
