To reach the museum, you have to walk up and at the end you will have a nice view from the top, especially on the harbor. That's the best part, in my opinion. Entrance in not that expensive, money has a discrete value, even if museum is not that exceptional. Its visit is suggested to history-lovers, since it hosts collections... More

The location itself is very nice. You can see all around the city too. It's not expensive museum but you get to see some interesting items and collections from around the world. Arts, artifacts, sculptures, etc.

Of course do not expect to find le musée du Louvre. But this is an interesting museum well worth a couple of hours visit. Well organized displays of greco-roman artifacts and various ethnic collections. Their Pacific Ocean section has some beautiful pieces from the Marquises islands for example. Nice display of 19th & 20th century local paintings. Last but not... More

Inside this old castle there's a museum that hardly ever changes its collection: interesting, but not stunning. You can also climb a tower that gives you a beautiful view of the bay, the city and its surroundings.

Located above Cannes, this museum in a former castle offers a variety of artifacts, everything from ancient Egypt to South Sea islands. If you had never been to a museum, this would be interesting, but overall the collection is to varied and minimal to be in any way exceptional. The climb up the tower is worth the views of Cannes... The museum is in the chapel of the medieval castle "La Castre", located in the hilltop old city of Cannes. The museum is very nice and interesting, and the scenic views of the bay of Cannes from the terrace were fabulous.

Great view once you've climbed up there, which was worth going for, but it is shut on a Monday! Not sure if that is year round but worth checking first!

Climbing all the stairs for the museum might very well be a waste of time. Entrance for adults (no discount) is 6 euro, which is a bit expensive for what you get. The museum is strange collection with no visible theme of different items and paintings. All signs are in French so for non-French speakers, the museum will be a... More

It's in the old castle, so of course it's on a hilltop. The climb might be unpleasant on a hot day, but the view along the Croisette alone is worth it. The collection is small, but among the most eclectic I've ever seen, ranging from Inuit to Roman artefacts, all beautifully displayed. Essentially, it's like someone's personal collection of beautiful... More
