Even if I do live near Avignon, I don't really consider Place de L'Horloge being very attractive. It's packed with restaurants/bars mainly for tourists spending a short time in Avignon. Food is the same veveywhere (steak, french fries, salad, dessert, wine, beer or mineral water)

I probably wouldn't stay here again. I don't think it's a good value. The breakfast was ok. The hotel is in a very busy Square. I heard traffic all night long. Of course I had my window open, because the room was stuffy.

An attractive 2 level carousel is surrounded by attractive buildings and trees & flanked on one side by numerous restaurants of many flavors featuring outdoor dining. We ate at several over our 5 day stay, enjoying them all, but particularly the couscous, the mussels and...More

This square is a very nice shady place to walk around. There was a carrousel in operation on the weekend. There are numerous outside-seating restaurants with good food at low prices. There is a wonderful ice cream shop (Regal Glace) on the south end of...More

Absolutely full of eating & drinking places, all looked good, some more expensive. Just wander round and take your pick

I visited Avignon 6-10 Apr 17 and loved it! I walked the almost one mile up the Avenue République from the train station to the Place de l'Horloge (and entering the Tourist Office) and felt well-rewarded for the effort. The Place itself is delightful and...More

Lovely place to spend some time relaxing while having something to eat in one of the many types of restaurant. Let your kids go on the merry-go-round

Hello David. Not a question, but a comment re your posting on Trip Advisor. You should go back off-season. We have just spent Christmas there and it was wonderful, and quiet. The prices in Brasseries etc seemed reasonable as well. John
