Great experience. History at every step. We used the hand held voice guide and made our way through the Palace. Take your time and enjoy the various presentations. Definitely a must see

We loved visiting here. The audio guides are offered in different languages and as most things were in French and English, all our party improved their French :-)!

Learn most of the popes period in Avignon and the palaces. Most text boards are in French so to fully understand the history, the buildings and everything do pay for the audio guide (like 2-3 euros extra). It is a must for getting full value...More

Set aside 3 hours - this is a marathon. The long queues at the entrance also take time. Good information available in each room. Water is available half way round. Look out for the medieval ceiling painting. Also the huge altar at the eastern side...More

Well worth a wander around. It's been adapted and improved continually over the centuries, so you get to see a wonderful tangle of buildings. We didn't opt for the audio guide facility, but found the cards available in every room informative. The English versions were...More

Such a historical building may be put to better use! It is a wonderful and huge building including several big halls (chapels) which could be used for exhibitions. It is overwhelming to consider that powerful popes roamed those rooms centuries ago.

Take your time to visit this place. Amazing history, in full restauration, so some rooms might not be accessible. Value for money, and do not forget the audioguide.

Easy. You would get near the Pont d Avignon and if you go to the bridge information shop you can buy a ticket to go on the bridge and straight into the Palais. Enjoy.
