We got lost here! Not literally but in terms of the overpowering power of the structure, its exhibits, and the wonderful sequence of the internal tour route. The strength and depth of the audio guide is a credit to whomever put it together. We loved the visit and you will too - you can't help being awestruck by the pomp... More

We took our family of teenagers so didn't get the audioguides since the kids really just wanted to walk around. There are information guides in several languages in each of the rooms so we used those to find out the purposes and history of each room and that seemed to work well. The view from the top is wonderful and... More

This is an up close look at what Papal life was like in the 1400s and much more intimate than visiting the vatican. It is unfortunate that the Palais went through many uses before the restoration began not that no long ago.

Stunning and breath taking. Very well preserved, even though I believe that more detailed information could be displayed. Without an audio guide you feel a little lost, and I don't think that it should be rhat way.

You can't really miss this place in Avignon - it is hard to miss. The structure itself is beyond amazing. I would highly recommend taking the tour.

What a triumph of restoration! If you visit in the High Season expect to queue but the wait is worth it. The restorers have swept away most of the Palace's more recent history as a barracks and a prison and returned the huge complex to its days as the home of the Pope and subsequently his representative. The scale is... More

If you go to Avignon, this should be your top priority to see. An absolutely spectacular piece of history, and it has been fairly well curated. Very user friendly, I heard at least a half dozen different languages while I waited in line for entry.
