Pretty square with some nice restarants

Located near another Roman ruin, the the Cryptoportiques, the Forum is a nice place to sit, people watch, and have lunch or and evening meal.

Lively charming place; do NOT visit the tourist trap yellow van Gogh terrace-restaurant because tourist trap prices but visit the 2 big places on the left (when standing in front): not very cheap drinks but fine diner in such atmosphere

Place du Forum is in the heart of Arles. Original columns from ancient Rome. Hint: skip the tourist-packed restaurants at night and find one of the many nice places on one of the side streets.

It's the scene of Vincent van Gogh's famous bar painting, so you have to go and have a look. It's obviously rather touristy, but hey! I was there as a tourist! In the evening it's a great place to sip at a Marc de Chateauneuf du Pape and watch the world go by.

Just stopped by while wandering Arles, and this was a good place to people-watch and soak up some of flavor of the city. Central location, easy to walk to/from other sights. Wish we could have stayed for the evening, but liked the rest we did have.

We had a great night here. We ate and drank in one of the restaurants and enjoyed a good meal. I can't help but think these places are just geared up to take as many tourists as possible throughout he night which can make it all seem quite impersonal and not really an authentic dining experience. You also pay to... More

Just sit down and look at the activity of the place. And that while you know that Van Gogh had his drinks in the café with the yellow walls - just go back 130 years and let your imagination wonder

One of the main squares in Arles, this plaza is bustling with locals and has multiple good priced and quaint cafes. The streets are beautiful and the buildings are all painted.

I remember having been in Arles in the 70s of the previous century. Then the Place du Forum was a rather quiet place, with one or two bars and the entertainment then mostly consisted of the occasional fire eater. However, since Arles (re-) discovered it had been the residence of Vincent van Gogh, things have rapidly changed. The 'Café de... More
