This statue, located aside the local tourist bureau on the Place de la Rotonde (city center) is bigger than life! It is a wonderful replica of one of the great painters in French history.

A very interesting statue of the great Paul Cezanne. It is located at the Place de la Rotonde, and is near the Fontaine de la Rotonde. It is a life-sized statue and as a visitor you might feel like going up close to greet the artist. Worth a stop.

The statue is close to the main square, and it is a must to take a pic with the guy, that made quite a history in painting, don't you agree?

The first contact with the city is the fountain de la Place de la Rotonde and the big statue of the famous painter Paul Cezanne.
We visited the place in beautiful summer day which added to the charm of the town.

Cezanne is a personal hero of mine. It is likely he at some time stood in this very spot admiring the Rotonde. The life size bronze statue viewed at eye level, gives the illusion of having viewed the great man in a private moment

We enjoyed several hours here. No bad the lights are not on at night. I understand only at Christmas are they on.

The statue is in front of the tourist information office. The best time to take a photo is in the morning.

This statue is located under some trees behind the Fontaine de la Rotonde and on the opposite side of the street to the Cours Mirabeau such that if you do not go to the side of the street that it is on you could easily miss it as it is a little over two metres high. I thought it was an unusual place to have this statue of this city's most famous resident until I realised that the Tourist Information office was nearby.

This bronze statue shows a life sized walking figure of Paul Cezanne (1839 - 1906) in a coat, wearing a hat with his walking stick and an easel on his back. He is standing on a low stone pedestal. It was erected in 2006 on the centenary of Cezanne's death and is the work of the Dutch born sculptor Gabriel Sterk.

He towered over Aix during his life and is well remembered a century afterwards .
We saw the statue soon after the movie about him at the nearby museum Granet and been emotional..
