The history of Aix is fascinating, and this tour goes mostly through 15th-19th centuries, with some Roman vestiges. Not to be missed.

Went on a half day trip from Marseille to Aix en provence. The town was lovely with small old house, fountains. There was a small fair with local goods (a bit overpriced). we had lunch in a lovely bakery under a glorious sun soaked day

The buildings are very beautiful, but the streets are somewhat dirty and not very well announced for a visitor.

The ancient city of Aix-en-Provence is extremely interesting. Apart from the medieval streets and buildings, there are many small squares and fountains. In the evenings there is always a crowd, because the place is full of restaurants and bars.

You will have enough time to wander around and see all the fountains ("blue route") and squares (maroon locations). I guess the one by Mairie d'Aix-en-Provence should not be missed. Just google aix V-plan-guide-uk Train... More
