It's a little museum but worth the visit when walking from Cours Mirabeau to the cathedral. Very friendly staff. The model of the old palace of the Comptes de Provence shows what has been lost.

It was a nice surprise to find out upon entering the museum that it was free. I think it would be worth it to go even if they charged a small fee. The rooms themselves are nice and there is a small collection of ceramics,...More

They have a smallish collection of some interesting things, the creche that talks, a little of this, a room with a painted ceiling, some masks that Roi Rene commissioned. It's very nice. The Fetes Dieu room was interesting.

Interesting & deserted ,, my kind of museum. The title says it all ,, now I have to type another 31 characters. Done it, that's good. But I've just remembered that I should mention the ceiling. So consider it mentioned & enjoy a pleasant 20...More

We visited the museum to enjoy the architecture of a hotel particulier and were delighted by the stairs, the ceilings (wow) and the doors. What we did not expect was the freaking amazing art the museum houses. We especially loved seeing the "Annunciation", which is...More

The museum is so small that one might complain if there were a fee, but there isn't. The house itself is worth seeing, as are the exhibits -- particularly (at least as of this writing) a justly famous Van Eyk Annunciation that is normally in...More

This small museum (just one floor of a beautiful 17th century town house) has beautiful original features, particularly the ceilings; refined furniture; and displays of puppets, friezes and panels showing processions from the 18th & 19th centuries.

This is a free museum, in an old house (hotel) with antiques from Aix. Really lovely. There are two absolutely stunning ceilings, and several displays of santons (carved figures from clay).

Free to step in to view the history of Aix. Lots about the festival procession - but not English explanation.

We were lingering at the doorstep of the beautifull old building, venturing a little bit inside to watch a maquette of old Aix, still unsure of what we had to pay and if the museum would be worth it (our Michelin guidebook said Eur 4,...More
