We were disappointed to see so few Cezanne paintings in his own city. The museum has a permanent collection of Cezanne’s, Giacometti, Mondrian, Klee, Picasso, Morandi, Tal Coat and others. The temporary exhibition now is called Picasso/ Picabia and displays many works of both of...More

Highly recommend putting aside a couple of hours to check out this museum. It has a very impressive collection of both modern and older art. Don’t miss the other half of the art collection in the nearby chapel.

Small but well planned exhibits of painting and sculpture, including a rather interesting exhibit of archaeological remains from the region. Two buildings, the second having an important private collection of French art, including several paintings by Picasso, Cezanne, and many others. Well worth the time...More

We had the good fortune to visit on a day when admission was free. Even so, it is worth the admission fee. Helpful descriptions in French and English. A fine variety of art. Sometimes tough to step back far enough to get good perspective on...More

Small museum with a handful of nice pieces. A lovely way to wile away a rainy day. Aix is small and it's nice to have a destination as you explore the city.

The entrance price is moderate, as is the collection. This is a pleasant stop while exploring Rue Cardinale just south of Cours Mirabeau. It is comfortable, in two fine buildings. While Cezanne is the hometown hero, there are a few Picassos here as well. There...More

Visited these Museums, the art is fabulous and worth seeing if you can put up with the continual pestering by the attendants, and it wasn't just me either! "Put your handbag in front of you", "Tuck your shirt in", "Don't lean towards the paintings", "...More
