The first thing you need to do before entering this church is research its history and know what to look for and where to find it. It's annoying finding out all the things you needed to see and do after you left.

This may not be the most stunning church I've seen in Europe but it is definitely the most beautiful one in Vienne. If in the area, we can recommend seeing another church because if you don't, it may just be "that one."

Worth a visit to simply take in the craftsmanship of both the exterior and interior of the church. Incredible that such work could be completed and retained with the tools and materials available at the time.

A beautiful facade, illuminated at night. Some unusual sculptures e.g. Jesus in a bath. Inside was a bit dark.

We attended mass in this ancient church and it was awesome. The church is a splendid example of Romanesque architecture; the singing was enchanting; the parishioners were beautiful. Of the three masses we attended in France this trip, this one was the most moving.

We like to visit historic buildings and in particular churches, which have a special atmosphere. This one is like no other! The remarkable architecture and history is visible immediately you approach the square surrounding it. Inside, the original polychrome decoration is simply stunning! Probably the best preserved of any church we have visited. Poitiers is a city of churches, but... More

Nice place to visit especially if you want some quiet, thinking time or just to sit in the peace and tranquility for a while. Some interesting columns, statues and stained glass to see. Definitely worth a visit.

What a stunning building, the front is heavily carved and very distinctive, it is a must see in Poitiers.

Very impressive and ornate facade, and a dark and atmospheric interior with massive decorated pillars. Well worth a visit. Would love to have seen it lit up!
