Just a replica of Paris. Nice atmosphere at the rear plenty of cafes to sit and people watch. Some of the glass planes have been removed probably due to vandalism at the rear of the building. Buttress can be seen mimic Paris. Anyone interested in churches and architecture must see.

This cathedral is big with high vaults. We found an interesting part was the south transcept with recently discovered late medieval frescoes. It had a late 12th to 13th century stained glass window of the Crucifixion, above the high altar. The colours were vibrant and the figures were larger than those in the earlier windows and so could be seen... More

Superb acoustics. We attended Sunday Mass and the sound of the congregation singing responses to the hymns was stunning, due to the acoustics in the church. Go there, hum a hymn and wonder at the sound you create. Also, look out for the statue of St Peter, if you wash his feet with water you get 40 days remission from... More

It s a cathedral, so it s big, but After visiting all churchbuildings i would say this one is certainly not nr 1 to visit The inside didn't t impress me, felt very empty. The art inside is standard.

The cathedral may not compare with the exquisite Notre Dame la Grande, which is just up the road, but it has an attractive west front, not to mention some rather startling gargoyles. Inside, the building is light and airy.

However it is a bit...... Another cathedral. It is enormous but for me not special in any real way. The area also offers the baptistery which looks and sounds lovely but like so many places in France it was closed. Oh maybe it was Monday, or Wednesday afternoon or after 4:00pm - honestly it's no wonder the economy is struggling.... More

We tour France in our motorhome and love its villages, towns and cities. Poitiers is a favourite. Many visitors think Futuroscope when they visit Poitiers, but there is so much more to this vibrant city. The mixture of medieval and modern streets and buildings is a real winner. The shopping is good and the restaurant life vibrant. The Cathedral Quarter... More

The beauty of this building make it a must see. We were the only visitors present and were awed by the windows.
