Breathtaking display of Tanks and other vehicles from multiple nations and eras - WWI to modern. It's more like a Tank Garage than a museum because many are operational including the Tiger II (See videos on YouTube). Highlights of the display (for me) included four...More

Brilliant display of a whole range of tanks from across the world, definitely well worth the visit. The highlight of the visit was the Israeli tank and the collection of tanks from World War II (with battle damage!!) - we recommend this to anyone who...More

A wonderful mecca for all armoured fighting vehicle buffs. there are some 300 plus examples with some in full working order headed by the only fully working Tiger 11 in the world - well worth seeing.

This really is big boy toys! Tanks everywhere you look right from WWI vintage to very modern and all apparently in working order. Mark you looking at the barrels of some I doubt they would be classed as ‘full’ working order. Remarkably there were very...More

Excellent tank/armored museum! I just wish that it was cured to a higher standard of viewing cosmetics and with a better tank-viewer positioning posture.

There was really lots of big and historic tanks to see. We suprised positively! There was not Café, but coffee and snack vending machines were good.

This is an excellent museum in the heart of the Loire Valley which we visited in May 2017. It’s supposed to be one of the largest in the world and owns about 800 vehicles (not all are tanks) but there are only about 200 on...More

For those who enjoy war history, this museum is a must. It has tanks from all decades - from WW1 all the way to Desert Storm. Not just French, but also tanks from Germany, Canada, Italy, et.al. Good fun for children as well.

Went for an hour whilst my wife went "shopping" and I stayed for four hours. Absolutely amazing collection of vehicles and armour well laid out in a very accessible location. Thoroughly recommended.

Huge numbers of tanks from WWI forward---enormous museum. My guy couldn't get enough of it and our let's have a quick look took the entire day. Great for kids as well as it has a section where kids can climb on the exhibits.

Planning a trip to Paris this summer and would like to visit this museum; is it necessary to rent a car or is there a tour company that provides a trip to the museum? When I google how to get to Saumur, it says to go to Tours and then use regional SNCF but that looks not very reliable. Thank you for any help that can be provided.
