The Combier distillery was founded in 1834 in the Loire Valley. Since the creation of the Original Triple sec, a delicious orange liqueur made with bitter and soft orange peels, the distillery has never stopped producing distinguished liqueurs and other spirits in the same original copper stills. We offer you today a full handcrafted range of liqueurs, aperitifs, premium absinthes, syrups and organic syrups.

Although I checked Combier's website, we missed the last tour of the day. However, what the website does not tell you is that there is only one English tour a day. If you want to go, I suggest you contact them to find out what time the English tour is given.

We arrived late in the day so we did not get to take a tour of the distillery but we did taste some triple sec and absinthe at the shop and bought a bottle to take home. We visited in September 2015

I had no idea how pastis nor absinthe were produced but the charming and enthusiastic guide quickly put that right. I joined a French couple being shown round and - my own grasp of the language being somewhat less than comprehensive - held up proceedings with frequent questions in Franglais which were met with good humour and patience by the... Very intresting tour if you are interested in the drink and how its made. Only 10 euros. Worth it. You get to sample the drinks after the tour. Be warned they give you 10 percent off but the bottles are more exspensive than in the supermarket. Almost double the price. So only get a small souvenir.

We were in the neighbourhood and popped in before catching a train to Tours. The staff were friendly, letting us slip into an English distillery tour that had just started and then slip out after before the tasting began to catch our train. I found the history of the growth of distilling in the region fascinating, the stories of the... More

If you are in Saumur then a visit to this small distillery is a must. Fruit syrups are the order of the day. You will find many products here exclusively. The staff are very friendly and will let you taste any syrups you wish. The distillery is famous for its triple sec which is similar to cointreau. Kids will enjoy... More

Interesting tour of the distillery followed by a sampling of the produce, cordials for mixing with wine, pastiche and the famous Triple Sec.

We really enjoyed our visit to this small distillery. We received a very warm welcome from Alison, who spoke perfect English! There was only myself & my husband, Alison showed us around, she was very interesting to listen to & took plenty of time to chat to us. Having finished the tour, which didn't take that long as it's a... More

Was so looking forward to visiting this distillery & buying their orange liqueur however as we approached the gates we were (very. Icily) told that the place was closed for an inventory check. (Not the ideal time to visit Saumur - early January.)
