Worth a visit when in Vanuatu
Travelled by a private minivan to Bkue Lagoon in July 2023. We had a large family with 8 kids ranging from 8 to 20 years old. The water is an incredible colour, but quite salty. There were heaps of rope swings into the water and depending on how game you are, will depend on what you go on. But there is something for everyone. There are no shops close by, so take your own food and drinks. Worth a visit if going to Vanuatu.

    Worth a visit, trip highlight
Cost was more than expected at $1500VAT per person. Was worth the visit though. Very pretty lagoon, it is connected to the ocean so is tidal and there are reef fish. Two rope swings and various platforms to jump from which kids loved. Need to be careful as plenty of possibility of injury. We came away with a broken toe from the rope getting caught between toes due to the way they make you wedge it between toes to hang on, don’t recommend this method. There are toilets and picnic tables/seating. Nice spot to spend a couple of hours. Take some food and drinks with you as no shops nearby.

    Fabulous swimming hole
Fabulous spot, a great swimming hole to jump off rock and a swing. We came as part of a package so was easy not having to deal with paying etc. Was a lovely day with not many people which meant we could just hang out and enjoy. Would suggest picking your times as apparently gets very busy. Nothing else here so take water, snack’s etc we were there for about an hour which was enough time to have a bit of fun.

    Okay day out
Worth a visit but be prepared for it to be pretty rustic. Plenty of rope swings and good swimming areas but very questionable toilets. Take band aids as there are plenty of broken nails and trip hazards. One member of our group cut her foot and although there was a rudimentary first aid box they refused to open it. Facilities are non existent so lang as you are aware you’ll have fun.

Worth the trip to get there
I went sef drive not a tour. Easy to find good road. 1500vt entrance fee no time limit. The pool is fed by sea and some fresh water. Clean. Swing ropes and platforms to jump from. If young children would need parental care and guidance. No real safety measures in place and like a lot of places maintenance minimal and could do with a little TLC. Most of lounge chairs ripped and broken. Some steps broken. It's a lovely place and can picnic or luncheon there as picnic tables. There was a kinda bar but I didn't venture in. Easy to pass a day relaxing away from pvilla.

    Crystal Blue Hidden Dream
Adorable place for the adventurous and young at heart that love the water. if in the town, its not to be missed. Bring cash a packed lunch, may be a small entry fee and not many food vans.

Tranquil before the cruise ship tourists arrived!
Blue Lagoon was tranquil, shady and beautiful. The water is cool but on a hot, humid day just right. There are places to sit in the shade out of the water and relax also. An easy 30 mins trip from Port Villa. Try and find the schedule for cruise ships in port as the arrival of the hundreds of visitors from the cruise ship will change the ambience of the lagoon.

    Worthwhile visit
Hired a driver from port. It was a very busy day but water lovely and teens had a great time. Cost of entry was AUD$20 and $5/10 for under 13 yrs. Worth a visit. Toilet facilities are iffy. Spent about an hour there.

Although an overcast and cloudy day it was still amazing. The only downside was when looking online or trying find info about the entry price it was unclear. Price is 1500 vuv for adults and 1000 vuv for children. Only accept cash. Easy and nice self drive there.

    Toilets need to be upgraded
1500vt entry fee for tourists. It is good to see that some of the facilities have been upgraded such as the wooden platforms for jumping. However, the toilets are very poor. How can you expect tourists to use the toilet when there is no toilet paper provided? Considering what they are charging and that this is a top tourist attractions for Port Vila, I would expect the standards of the toilets to be much higher.

Amaaaaazing. Perhaps the best photos taken in Vanuatu were taken here, especially at the far end where the lagoon trails out to the sea. There were some really fun/scary platforms for jumping into the lagoon from various heights. Rope swings too.

You don't need to bring anything, just turn up, have fun.

If you are visiting Vanuatu and on Efate Island a trip to the Blue Lagoon, about 45 minutes East of Port Vila is well worth it. A cool spring fed lagoon which also opens to the sea. Very family friendly, change room and toilets available though very basic. Drop in at the Rentapao River falls on the way past.

The drive up to Blue lagoon was great and the view were amazing! We had a lot of fun diving in from the swinging ropes into the water. There were food vendors and a cruise ship was in town! Great experience.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it, the colour of the water looks fake!
So many places to jump off like platforms and trees, people are there helping younger or frightened people.
Decent amount of places to sit, on the sand or the grass.
Go early before the cruise ships get there, we got there around 9am and by 11am it was filling up.
Would love some food options there, the owners would make a killing if they cooked a BBQ, a lot of tours were there with their own BBQ's and it wa making my mouth water lol
We spent around 3-4 hours here

A great activity to do with the teens and children for 1 to 2 hours or longer.

Rope swings and jumping platforms suitable for all ages and confidence levels for those that want to be more active or you can float around in the blue blue water if you want something a little more sedate.

The price of 1500 vat (20aud) per adult (over12) was more than reasonable given the entertainment for my teens.

We combined the trip to blue lagoon with a trip to Rarru falls.

The teenagers had an absolute ball and did not want to leave. When I asked what did they rate it out of 10. The answer was 11. If you have busy teenagers who love jumping in the water it is a must.
