Another nice beaux arts site. An interesting spin on local history (as most have), some highly prized artworks and artefacts. I think the David d’Angers museum next door should be included in the price or at least entry at a reduced rate. I’d rate both...More

Angers calls itself the "City of History and Art," and the Musee des Beaux Arts is one of the jewels in the crown. The collection does not include any major works but it does include works by major artists such as Rodin, Fragonard, Watteau, Sisley,...More

Some beautiful works of art in this museum make it the visit well worth a visit. The first two are by ?Auguste Bodinier and the third one by Jean-jacques Henner.

A beautiful museum that contains beautiful works of all periods. The access is perfect for people with reduced mobility and attentive staff. A very beautiful frame both inside and outside.

I'm giving this museum one star not because there is anything amiss with the museum itself, which has been housed in a fine 15th century building since 1769 and which underwent lengthy refurbishment at the beginning of this century. In fact it is rather fine,...More

Who would expect such a magnificent museum in a relatively small town like Angers? The entrance fee is a modest 4 euro for this great museum. The staff is very helpful, and you find attendants in almost every hall. The exhibition is well laid out...More

Well worth the entrance fee of 4 euros, it is cool on a hot day and the art is varied from modern to old, there are a few old masters as well
