Due to some restoration work on the exterior, it was a bit difficult to find the entrance, but once in, it was a wonderful cathedral. Some of the glass windows destroyed during WWII so a mixture of art. Nice visit.

The catedral facade is quite unique, also because in front of it there’s a quite long stair which helps the impression of being higher. Inside is a quite harmonious building with a special highlight for the Middle Ages stained glass windows. Enjoy!

Huge alter in the cathederale but the entrance was under renovation at the time I went. Not the most impressive church I have seen as it was fairly plain inside.

There are big restoration works going on for the West front and doors, but the two Rose windows from the 13 th century are well worth a visit. It is a beautiful twin spires cathedral seen from miles around.

A towering cathedral overlooking the river. It, like Chartres to the north, has been undergoing a remarkable and somewhat controversial restoration over several years to great effect.

I stumbled upon this Cathedral on my first day here in Angers. I hadn't done any research about the city or its attractions because I was moving here so I thought I would figure it out sooner or later. So whilst I was roaming around...More
