Some very interesting old building lie between the narrow alleyways and cobbled streets. There a few shops and restaurants mingled in amongst the houses. Well worth seeing if you are in the city,

A lovely way to discover the beautiful Medieval-Renaissance town of Le Mans with it's Gallo-Roman wall with many towers is by wandering around during the weekend of "Entre Cours et Jardins" in September. This weekend many of the private gardens and courtyards are open to...More

When I first set eyes on the historic centre of Le Mans I was amazed- it looked like something designed for a Disney set but it was real, timbered buildings, cobbled streets pretty much as it was when it came into being

Forget the modern town around and just still through these wonderful streets. Whatever you do, don't forget to walk around the outsides on both sides of the hill to admire the magnificent walls.

This is a must to do while visiting this area. The old city is so charming and lovely, like walking back in time. The cobblestone streets and old, beautiful buildings are very interesting and filled with small shops and restaurants to enjoy.

Beautiful area of le mans. There's not a specific sight or area per se. But the whole area is like something out of Beauty and the Beast. Highly recommended.

We parked at the end of the tramline and got the tram into the city. Parking and return by tram was cheap enough. Can't remember how much though.
