This is one of the landmarks of Rouen with the cathedral. Located in the heart of the city called Vieux Rouen. It's between the cathedral and the Vieux marché square where Joan of arc was burnt by the English.

The Great Clock is one of the landmarks of Rouen and is a short walk along cobblestone streets from the Cathedral. Don't miss it on your way to the market square.

Situated in the street of the same name this 14th century astrological clock is housed in a renaissance archway crossing the street. It is a very ornate and beautiful clock that has been admired for centuries and was painted by, among many others, J.M.W Turner in 1832.

Certainly on the “must see” list if you are visiting Rouen.

The astronomic clock lays on a Renaissance arch which has spanned the street since 1527. It lies roughly between the Place du Vieux Marché and the cathedral. The Gros-Horloge itself dates back to the 16th century. Its location makes it very useful as a landmark for walking around in Rouen. It is still working and beautifully decorative. Be sure to stand under the arch and admire the intricate carvings.

Visually impressive clock that you may well come across spontaneously on your walk through Rouen. You do not need to go inside.

We had a copy of the description from Rick Steves' guide to France. Be sure to look up to the roof of the arch.

This is a lovely part of the city. Didn’t actually take the visit inside but it is possible. The surroundings have great and full of character.

It's there, it's wonderful and it's rich beyond belief. I didn't do the internal tour. But it's a few moments from the cathedral so walk through it at least!

The building and clock face has amazing detail that would take years to view to give any justice to the builders and engineers who built it.
