Upon exiting the market of Rouen, you can't miss it. It's the largest astronomical clock in Europe, and it is a beautiful thing to see. It's been in place since the 1300s and I was impressed with the details and especially the size of the...More

You can fail to miss this astronomical clock overhead on the Main Street close to the cathedral. A very elaborate clock from the 14th Century. Nice to see, but don’t go out of your way.

How impressive it was to see the astronomical clock dating back to the 14th century! Located on Gros Horloge Street in Ruon, it is near a welcoming shopping and eating area.

Slightly off the beaten track this clock is simply stunning. The delicate, indeed, ornate, surrounds are magnificent, and the setting is simply wonderful. One of the must do attractions of Rouen.

We are reasonably frequent visitors to the superb city of Rouen, but we had not managed to visit the Gros Horloge, beyond passing under it in the street. The visit was very worthwhile, and the provision of the audio handsets (available in a variety of...More

It's an easy walk - it's fairly level. I have one knee replaced and the other needs to be done. I always use a cane when touring (otherwise at home I don't) to give you some idea of how mobile I am.
