- David ADurham, United Kingdom143 contributionsJoan of Arc a good experience of the day.Excellent visit to the attraction well worth the ticket. The story of Joan as a 16 to 19 yr old and how she was treated but then also a new trial of her “guilt” and its outcome. Video tutorial in different languages as you move from room to room. Maybe 1 hours but 2 hours if you linger in some of the additional rooms too.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 21 December 2023
- Emily M6 contributionsTotally immersive story tellingThis was a brilliant experience. The story of Joan of arc brought to life by projections and characters involved in her life. Walking from room to room we got a little bit more of her story in each room piecing it all together. Brilliantly put together. Fantastic English commentary. Highly recommend.Thank you for visiting us ! We are very pleased to read your review. - Hope31 contributionsWell DoneThis place was definitely well worth a stop. It was very well done and very informative. The tower at the top that allowed a 360 degree view of Rouen was really beautiful as well. We went in February and we were nearly the only people there. Loved it.Visited February 2024Travelled with familyWritten 15 March 2024
- smanissAustin, Texas17 contributionsSightseeing in RouenThe Historical Jeanne d'Arc experience was quite enjoyable. We had it at the top of our list of things to see in Rouen and were not disappointed. The multi-media presentation was informative and enjoyable. Be aware that the presentation involves moving from room to room and up and down stairs. When we went, the elevator was not working and one of our group was not able to enjoy the complete experience.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 20 March 2024
- Tom SSeaford, Virginia217 contributionsAnother look at Joan de ArcA historical review of Joan de Arc given as a multi-media presentation of her second trial that reversed the first one. Of course, they executed her after the first one so the wrong couldn't be reversed. Located in the original. but restored Archbishops palace. In French, with audio guides for other languages. There are long (200-250 step) circular staircases that almost did us in, until we backtracked to find an elevator. I still do not understand her rise to power with the King but she is the patron saint of France and the symbol of French Nationalism.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 April 2024
- Sterling_MorrisonUckfield, United Kingdom154 contributionsGood for adults and older kidsThis is an audio-visual experience - cleverly done - with video worked into the shape of the rooms of the building. And the actors are excellent, especially in the final courtroom scenes. There isn't a lot of opportunity to wander around except at the end, and I wonder how engaged younger visitors would be, as the dialogue used is aimed more at an older audience. We enjoyed it (my kids are both late teens), and it was decent value. Worth a stop when you're in Rouen.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 August 2024
- MelCon21Dublin, Ireland83 contributionsAn enthralling audio visual experience of the history of Joan of Arc. Highly recommended.A very interesting and well put together exhibition. I knew very little about the history of Joan of Arc apart from the basics and this was informative and definitely inspired me to learn more. The videos told the story well, and kept everyone engaged. The audio guides worked well and all the staff we interacted with were very friendly. I really recommend seeing this if you are in Rouen.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 29 August 2024
- Clara7 contributionsArtistic, stunning design concept and great value for moneyExcellent from start to finish, from the incredibly helpful receptionist (who spoke English impeccably) to the experience itself. I audibly gasped upon first entering the second room - the setting of each chapter of immersion really does make it. The story is brought to life quite literally. The experience cost 11E for 1hr15 and was well worth it. You would have paid at least £25 for an event like this in London. This museum is about French history and Jean d'Arc story. There are rooms with audiovisual explanations. It was too detailed and long. If you are really interested in history you can enjoy it otherwise visiting the city and the cathedral can be more interesting for a daily visit in Rouen.

This exhibition about the life and death of Joan of Arc is housed in the old episcopal palace in Rouen which makes for an atmospheric settings. You have an audio guide and move from room to room where there is a multi media presentation telling the history of Joan of Arc. It’s a great way to find out about her and the times she lived in. They use original testimony and documentation from her trial and retrial. It really bought it all to life in an fascinating way. If you have an hour and a half to spare in Rouen I would definitely recommend going to this informative experience.

We were in Rouen on a Sunday so there wasn't a lot open. This museum is an audio guide (if you don't speak French) that accompanies videos that are a fictionalised account of Joan of Arc's life, trial, and death. I didn't know much about her so it was quite interesting - but it's expensive for what it is. You walk from room to room and sit and watch a video in each one. Sometimes the videos didn't start for ages and you were wondering whether it ever would.

In itself, this itinerary in video form is interesting, despite the few rooms where the sound was much too loud.
However, the final video room is clearly anti-right propaganda in all its forms. This itinerary shows us all the greatness of Joan of Arc but criticizes the parties who pay homage to her (what a contradiction).
This latest video comes as a surprise and was actually unnecessary, especially in a city where left-wing posters showing a ridiculed or even blasphemed Joan of Arc are flourishing. Can we speak here of an instrumentalization? ;)
Should we fill the rooms a little or advertise the socialist mayor of the city?

This museum is set in the building where Joan of Arc's trial took place and uses video projection technology to put you right in the middle of the action. Very informative about her story! The videos are in French and you are provided with headphones that translate everything into English. Very well done and engaging for our 9 and 13 year old kids.

The story of Joan of Arc is recounted from room to room by short films which replay the rehabilitation trial of Joan of Arc. Its entire history is traced in the context of the time. We found it very interesting and informative.
One of the last rooms allows you to have the opinion of 4 historians on a series of questions about Joan of Arc.
The price is €11. A little expensive but doing reconstruction work like this must not have been easy

Located in one of the old buildings in downtown Rouen, this dramatization of the life of Joan of Arc is cleverly done and a good introduction to her life and death. Audioguides in numerous languages are included and you proceed through several rooms to view film and multi-media recreations of how Joan came to emerge from life as a peasant girl to become general of the French army. There are seats available in every room and lots of stairs.

This multi-media reconstruction of the life and eventual rehabilitation of Jeanne d'Arc is essential for understanding her place in history. The narration, based on testimony at her posthumous trial is extremely well done. The story moves through the rooms of the palace attached to the cathedral and requires some walking and waiting. Two features that caught our attention were the explanation of her leadership in the battles she fought and the obsession her accusers had with her wearing men's clothes.
