The Astronomical Big Clock impact you. You are walking by the shops and suddenly it are in front of you. Beautiful, colorful with a lot of small details. Amazing.

A very interesting street clock. It is also possible to go up to the tower and see the mechanism. But if you want to return down to catch the "noon" allow yourself some minutes more because there might be a queue on your way down.

A great attraction in downtown Rouen . In the heart of Rouen an iconic artifact of the city . Another reason to visit the historic downtown core.

Impossible not to love a street with that name. Heaving with people, lots of lovely shops, and of course the aforesaid Big Clock. Don't miss the delightful carvings underneath the arch, before you approach the Vieux Marche and the ghastly monstrosity that is the Joan of Arc church (see the tasteful and moving memorial chapel in the cathedral instead). Reminded... More

Lovely view of the big clock. The street is full of shops and restaurants but the best restaurant by far is La Chablada near the Ibis Champs de Mar.

Beautiful clock face. You are able to climb the tower but we didn't on this occasion. The archway below the clock is very impressive with amazing sculptures.

You really can't miss the clock as you enter the archway along the main street toward the Cathedral. Be sure to stop and see the carvings along the top of the archway. Although we did not go up, I understand you can climb up to have a view of the surrounding area. It really is a beautiful clock...and as a... More

Beautiful and fascinating site - climb the winding stairs and see the clock from inside. Don't miss this amazing bit of history.

The clock is on both sides of the building, so please note as you walk under. The hands were missing but if there, they would not move. The numbers move around to note the time.

This mostly pedestrianized street is central to a visit to Rouen, as it houses, as is noted in its title, the Gros-Horlage, which I've written about elsewhere, the famous cathedral at one end and the church of St Joan at the other. In addition there are several lovely shops, some eateries, and a surprise or two, including a plaque (not... More
