I have visited this attraction twice. It is a house full of surprises and really reflects the way Satie's life was. The piano room is out of this world and the "roundabout" is fun. So worth a visit

I like Satie's music, I understand that he was an eccentric and I wasn't expecting a typical museum experience. Bearing that in mind, I still didn't find that a visit to the Satie House offered very much. The way the tour worked is that they...More

Enjoyed the audio tour (you're equipped with an electronic headset when you walk through the museum) and enjoyed the interactive parts.

The place looked like a normal museum but Erik Satie was far from it. Eccentric it was a look at this odd character's life as you walk thru a type of carnival house with audio guide. The grand finale was a ride on a self...More

the house in itself was actually not all that interesting, but the fact that the guide was very good at explaining all about Erik Satie made it all worthwile, we could actually hear his music playing while listening to the explanation...

French culture has a whimsical vein--think mimes, Cirque de Soleil, or Daft Punk--that you don't encounter in many tourist sites, but the Maison Satie provides a motherlode of whimsy for its visitors. If you want just the facts, read wikipedia. I admire how the curators...More

This is not really a museum as it does not tell you anything about Satie's life or the context in which he worked. It is a series of installations such as those constructed by Satie with musical sound effects. Headphones translate the commentary into English...More
