Parts of this church date back over 800 years and is well worth a look around. There are a number of interesting references to St Therese and her family.

We visited both this cathedral and the Basilique de Sainte-Therese. I much prefer the cathedral with its history and atmosphere.

The gothic architecture, the many chapels, and the informative guides to the history of the Church and its religious significance all make this a very worthwhile place to visit in Lisieux.

We called at Lisieux on our way back to Calaais.
Magnificent cathedral from the outside. And inside was fabulous too.
The photographic exhibition on the life of St Therese, in English as well as French, filled both sides of the building. Very interesting and compelling. Excellent use of text and photographs

Those in charge of this church have taken some steps to provide lighting for some if its features, which is an improvement over many of its counterparts in other formly important cities.

The place has a fantastic acoustic and when visited, a spectacle in the honour of the beatification of Therese de Lisieux it proved to be excellent for translating the message of Therese.

I was lucky to see the Cathedral, to sit quietly and hear first the bells chiming but then the organ playing, practicing for a concert it was just magic. How lucky this city id to have two such glorious buildings.

It's easy to get somewhat blase about all the staggering Gothic churches in Northern France. This certainly isn't one of the great ones but its smaller size gives it a somewhat intimate feel and it has one or rather nice pieces of religious art. Perhaps not worth making a special effort to visit on its own, but if you combine it with a few minutes in the Bishop's Garden almost directly behind it's worth half an hour of your time away from the main sites in Lisieux.

Dear all,
I would like know if there is English mass celebrated at this Cathedral, or other churches nearby,
Quite difficult to find their website for mass information. Very much appreciated.
