Well worth a visit but hard work if you have mobility problems
WE visited in early April which unsurprisingly was before the gardens were at their best and sadly, before the famous waterlilies were showing. Nonetheless the displays of spring flowers were excellent, the house enchanting and my experience would have been complete if not for the poorly thought out arrangements for disabled visitors. There are disabled bays in the car park but the car park is a fair distance from the entrance to the gardens and house. Also on attempting to exit the property the provision of facilities for those with reduced mobility was locked (and unattended). There is much room for improvement of signage and directions although the staff are very kind and helpful

    Beautiful but crowded
The only day we had to visit the gardens was a Sunday in April, so we knew it would be challenging. Timed tickets are required and still the crowds in the gardens made the paths through the flowers and along the ponds one-way and cramped. Still it is a lovely area and well-tended. If you buy your ticket online ahead of time, be sure to turn off the main entrance walkway to your right and be admitted in no time! The regular line was enormous. Parking is inadequate.

So very glad to have seen these gardens
Such an incredible garden and so beautifully maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed our time wandering through the gardens that he loved so much. We spent some time looking through his home also and we were surprised at how large it is ( I suspect very large for the time). Giverny is a beautiful place to see and makes for a wonderful photo opportunity.

Wonderful, a must see. But go early, and beat the crowds.
This was a wonderful family experience, it was a nice quiet get away from Paris before all the crowds got there. Be sure to go first thing in the morning. It was absolutely beautiful but by mid day you can't even walk because of the crowds, and we were in the off season. The staff needs to do a better job directing people where to go. They were not helpful until my daughter started speaking in french, then they were helpful. Also, not that you cannot visit the house and garden, take a lunch break, then try and go back to the water lillies. We were almost denied admission even though we had a ticket. They also need to have a designated time for the tour groups, the large groups really ruin the experience. The tour operators need to control their participants and keep them off to the side.

    Lovely tulips
Garden was lovely with all the flowers in vibrant colors. The house was interesting too. It was a nice day weather wise which meant numerous tourists busses. Some of the tulips were still in bloom just in time as others started to fade away. Glad we visited early May and not in the summer. It can get very hot outdoor.

Nice to do with beautiful gardens
Stunning gardens with roses and other flowers in bloom. The back garden with water was so picturesque and well taken care of. A bit disappointed that some of the gardens were only visible from afar and access was restricted. Monet’s house was also interesting to see but not the highlight of the visit. A bit of a train ride from Paris but doable and a relaxing day trip with great access to cafes and food on site (delicious crepe!). Recommend if you have time in your itinerary. Arrive early to avoid the crowds.

Absolutely stunning! Get your tickets in advance
We drove here from Paris on our way to Normandy. We purchased tickets in advance, meaning we could walk right in at our time (although admittedly it did take us about 5 or 10 minutes to find the entrance, since it's a little confusing). It's very crowded, but even still, the flowers are stunning! (We visited on June 2, 2023.) Be sure to also visit the pond with the water lilies. If it weren't so crowded, you could spend 2 hours here just taking in all the beautiful flowers. The walk through Monet's house was interesting, but I'm not sure really worth it given the long line to get inside. Absolutely a must-do when in Giverny!

    A beautiful experience
As a Monet fan it was well worth the visit. It was packed with people who shuffled along a long narrow path that takes visitors through a beautiful array of flowers with a pond backdrop (just like the paintings). It was pouring rain the entire time which made the slow moving, photo-taking tourists a test of patience. Get there early as it opens or buy tickets ahead of time. I liked the Monet house although for the most part it was a store. But the items sold were classy for the most part. We certainly bought our share of stuff. By the look of the long line for the women's WC I would strongly suggest taking care of that before coming.

    Well worth a visit!
Fabulous garden and house of the Impressionist artist Claude Monet. Very busy but still able to get around and see the colourful house and spectacular gardens. Many photo opportunities and shady benches to sit and enjoy the views. Great gift shop with wide range of prices to suit everyone. Just outside the garden several small gift shops and cafes to round off your visit. Not to be missed if you are in Normandy.

    Prepare for crowds
You do not have to appreciate the art of Monet nor be a lover of flowers to appreciate the beauty of this place but if you ARE then you will be delighted. Take along your patience as this is a most popular attraction both from those taking day trips out of Paris and others who are on Seine river cruises who come by the bus load. It is sometimes difficult to get a good photo of the flowers but there are so many that you can't help but get a few. The line in to the house itself was quite large and slow and inside the amount of people made it difficult to appreciate the smaller places/rooms. We were lucky - tulips in full bloom. Would love to be there when the irises are in bloom. If you are going, do look up and see what should be in bloom when you are there. There are some shops and places to eat available but do be prepared to wait on the crowds.

I really love the pastel-colored house where Monet lived and painted for over 40 years. Stepping inside, I find the rooms preserved much as they were during his lifetime, offering a glimpse into his daily life and artistic process. It just all so cute and warm with artisan touch.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the visit is Monet's spectacular gardens. As you wander through the meticulously maintained paths, you'll be transported into the living canvas that inspired countless masterpieces. The vibrant flower beds, the wisteria-draped bridge, and the tranquil water lily pond come alive, replicating the scenes immortalized in Monet's paintings.

I would really enjoy sitting and painting here in his garden all day long, it was super serene with lots and lots of flowers :) The fragrance of blooming flowers, the gentle murmur of water, and the chirping of birds create a peaceful and restorative atmosphere.

We have been fortunate to do quite a bit of traveling these last few years, and this was one of our most memorable experiences ever! Full disclosure, we are HUGE fans of Impressionist art, especially Claude Monet. So to be able to tour his home where he spent his last years and continued his amazing career was so very special. But the best part was touring the "Japanese Garden" which inspired the water lilies and other iconic Monet paintings. If you love art, you HAVE to put this place on your bucket list. They have a really nice, high quality gift shop to conclude your visit and pick up the perfect Monet souvenir. A couple of suggestions. Go as early as you can as the crowds are big all year long. Also, the parking is quite a walk from the home and gardens so be prepared for a lot of walking.

Well worth the trip even in Autumn. The house is particularly interesting. There is plenty of space and lots to see. Take a walk to the lily pads and bridge. Love this place!

Besides flattening my camera battery with so many photos, the atmosphere and the milieu of the gardens is very inspirational, just wandering around absorbing the feel and vibe, despite the many throngs of tourists doing same. You need a reservation, but there's no time limit on how long you stay. Excellent gift shop, nothing tacky.

Beautiful gardens, even towards the end of October. Such a symphony of colors. Great to see iconic views too. Tip: very glad we were here in the off-season; can't imagine how crowded it would be during high season. We also walked through the village and had a nice lunch at Restaurant Baudy.

This is a really special place to visit. The gardens are simply magnificent and it is wonderful to see the water lilies and scenes captured in Monet’s paintings. The house is also lovely and it is great to see the studios too. Overall brilliant.

We decided to do the tour without guides and found it very easy to get to Vernon by SNCF train (from Gare St Lazare) and then take the shuttle bus (Navette) to Giverny, which leaves always about 10 minutes after the Paris train’s arrival. We had pre-booked tickets (bought at the official web site) and entered without any waiting. The gardens are lovely, for somebody who loves Monet’s painting this visit will add a special flavour to enjoying them. Monet’s house is kind of interesting, but it was rather disappointing that the paintings there were all reproductions, not originals. For an excellent lunch after the visit the Ancien Hôtel Baudy, about ten minutes’ walking from Monet’s Garden, is strongly recommended.

Do NOT miss this tour. The gardens are magnificent. From the lily ponds that inspired his paintings to the beautiful gardens and the house itself filled with his art. This was my favorite thing I did in Paris. The village where the home is located is very charming and has the haystacks that also inspired many of his paintings.

You must go if you love Impressionist art. What everybody said is true; very lovely and crowded. We went early and went straight to the lilly pond area. We enjoyed 30 minutes there before the rush of tour busses. It was worth going first thing to enjoy a peaceful moment there. The other garden side can be enjoyed with more people.
