I was here in July during a weekend trip to Lille. I think the museum is well worth a visit as is displays one of the largest art collection outside Paris. The collection is quite eclectic, with paintings from various time periods (some Manet, Monet also there), sculptures, etc.

Really enjoyed our visit to this art gallery. We arrived lunchtime on a Sunday, and walked straight in, which worked out to be good timing, as by 3pm, the queue went around the outside of the building. Was thrilled to see Monet, Rodin, Rubens, Manet and many other Masters. Well worth a visit.

We visited the Palais on the weekend of the Festival, although it is usually free on the first Sunday of the month, September is generally an exception because of the Festival. But because the Braderie had been cancelled it was free as usual. It tries to attract by mentioning it has paintings by Monet, Goya, Picasso and so on but... More

A lovely place to immerse yourself in art and culture in Lille really enjoyed my visit. Cafe on site although did not offer a great selection, the building itself is lovely and I found the map room very interesting.

We very much enjoyed our trip to Palais des Beaux-Arts. It is a nice big airy space which has lots of paintings and sculptures. The cafe was also good if not a bit expensive. The place is definitely worth a visit. Bare in mind that if you want to borrow a free audio guide you will need to have ID... More

Great art gallery, it costs 7 Euros to view, but the British were disappointed the day we went as we were supposed to be given an audio to explain the paintings and sculptures to us. There was no rebate even though all of us could not have an audio as they were charging. There are no English subtitles and I... More

I visited on the first Sunday of the month, when this museum is free for everyone, so I can't speak as to its value had I paid full price. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed this museum. Though it is small compared to the museums of, say, Paris, I felt that people had gone to great lengths to make sure... More

The 'Beaux-Arts' exhibits are, in general, less than special although there are a few gems. I don't need to highlight them - they will shout at you! The whole visit took us around three hours but a sizeable chunk of that time was spent watching the creation (as live animation) of cartoons by Zep, many of which were really funny.... More
