- Joe LBillericay, United Kingdom38 contributionsNice exteriorWe walked from the opposer side of the city to view the church, we look at many others along the way. all of which were open. This was the only one that was closed. which is strange as the Catholic Church is supposed to be open to everyone.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 February 2024
- Katrina HOxford, United Kingdom177 contributionsAn unusual architectural delightThis was an unexpected find and possibly one of the most interesting cathedrals I've visited for a while. Started in the 1850s (so surprisingly new!) it was finished in 1999. The architectural styles change from East End to West End from Victorian Gothic to modern. The west end in particular is very unusual and worth visiting in the afternoon when the sun is shining through the marble. Peaceful and unusual!Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 April 2024

Visit for those who visit this city, a cathedral that has the striking characteristic of a façade of a totally different style from the original project. It has renovations that make it a mix of a classic style with modern things. Keep in mind that during the months of January and February it opens its doors to the public from 2 p.m.

The Cathedral of the Treille can look tristounette both inside and outside. With the luminescence show, it's not the same anymore. Indeed sound and light allow to sublimate it. Good organization. Better to take the so-called gold square seats to have more perspective. Allows to spend an excellent start to the evening in the old Lille. Show to do to see the cathedral in a different way and better appreciate it.

The portal of this church is worth the detour! the marble slabs were sawn so that the sun of this hot month of October would pass through them! Inside, we are impressed by the depth of the nave. Plus, we signed up to visit the magnificent CRYPT! It occupies 2500 m2, neo-Gothic with red bricks and white stone! A must see !

Free admission. The interior of the cathedral is absolutely magnificent in Gothic style. Don’t hesitate to go all the way to the bottom to visualize all the colors. The square with its cafes also decorate the landscape. Go for it !

Don't just walk past. Don't hesitate to go inside.
The interior is beautiful, its dimensions are impressive.
If you also have the change to enter while the organist plays one of the organs you can see the perfect acoustics of this church.
All this will take you to appeasement, even contemplation!

Loved lille but even in the churches you have people sitting in the door begging. They harass you as u walk around. As I'm travelling alone I did not feel safe. A crowd of them would come up and beg for money. I had four men at one time.

This cathedral was reported as damaged during warfare and instead of a sympathetic restoration there is a stark modernist facade which leaves the visitor in no doubt as to the statement being made regarding moving on
