We had visited this museum in the past, and wanted to see it again. It is housed in the old Jesuit college building and had a magnificent collection of all things Roman - statues, sarcophagi, mosaics, coins and Roman glass. Very disappointed to find out...More

But its not all stuffed, surprised looking animals. This was like looking through your grandfather's shed. Glass cabinets jammed with relics and artifacts collected before any of us were born. Brilliant displays of France's contact with the third world. All museums used to look like this,...More

My wife and I were interested in completing our visit to the Roman antiquities of Nimes with a visit to this museum of archaeology, which we thought would be a wow! It is certainly billed as such on the OT website. Wow, how disappointing! Only...More

Incredible collection of ancient remains. A good selection of mosaics in particular but the main attraction was the collection of ancient gravestones. A must for any classicist as I have never seen such a collection of gladiator gravestones. Quite incredible. Could have spent hours there.

First off, the Archeological Museum and the Museum of Natural History are two separate entities. Some of the photos posted here are inaccurate and are rather of the Museum of Natural History. That said, the Natural History Museum would likely make me drop dead of...More

There is not much to see at the location. A beautiful new modern museum is currently being built & will be open in about 2 years. Then it should be a destination.
