We visited this at the end of our city walking tour , there is a small door which our guide had the key for and we were able to climb the spiral staircase for the excellent views from the top.

Pleases, first of all, its conformity to the size of the city. Therefore, it looks monumental and at the same time delicately. It will be nice if start you visit to the old part of the city by going through this gate. Get the right...More

Give yourself a bit of time to enjoy the park behind the monument. The road is busy infront so be careful crossing.

This was a nice easy walk from Place de la Comedie and the park across the street and beautiful architecture of the buildings in the area were worth the walk.

If you are coming to Montpellier then you simply have to see this amazing Porte. If for no other reason that to see the other statues and aqueduct that is nearly. It also leads directly into the old centre of town.

The Porte du Peyrou is quite an architectural surprise in the otherwise sober city centre of Montpellier. Easy to find due to its shape and size and good for some pictures.

This is a very interesting monument by itself. It is flanked by many other interesting close by areas to include the old town, plazas, the food hall, restaraunts, etc. Highly recommend with a little bit of study before hand.
