I love Place de la Comedie. A large open square, you can sit and have wine or a coffee and watch people go by. You can walk and browse amongst market stalls that are frequently dotted around. There is an excellent tourist office with loads of information about Montpellier and the Region. From here you can walk to lovely shopping... More

Would recommend visiting at night when all of the buildings are lit up. The architecture here, and in the roads leading up to the Place are very attractive. Lots of place to eat here, so its always busy. The tram also stops here so it easy to access from around the city.

This is a great place to visit with shops and restaurants on the square and close by. Also has the tourist office and starting point for the tourist "trains" and bus tours.

The place de la Comedie is where all the good bars and restaurants of Montpellier are located. A great spot to have fun at night.

Place de la Comédie is a very pleasant pedestrian area in the heart of Montpellier. Lots of cafes, restaurants & shopping. Large underground parking garage. Close to Musee Fabre.

Lovely paved area largely pedestrianised. Served by trams and with large underground car park with direct access from the square. Very vibrant with hustle and bustle going on. Nice restaurants round the main part of the square. When we were there on a Saturday there was a market going on and a guitarist playing music. He was exceptionally good and... More

Fabulous open space full of magnificent buildings including the opera house. Lots of restaurants and open terraces where you can sit and enjoy a drink or meals. Street entertainers of quality at least during the season. A bustling area attracting both tourists and locals. Not to be missed!

We parked in the underground car park at Place de la Comedie, and it's a good central location. As you climb the stairs, you come out in to a beautiful square, surrounded by lovely buildings. There are a lot of restaurants in the square with outside seating areas for food and drinks (even McDonalds has an outside area, although I... More
