Thank you for your kind comment. The Fort Saint Elme is discovered on foot. It's even more impressive.

A somewhat hairy drive up to the fort culminated in a wonderful view. The castle itself was a bit of a disappointment and I only paid entry for a possible view over Port Vendres. This was not possible so I would just drive up and...More

We took the walk up to the fort one morning in early August so it was the height of summer and very hot. But it’s not too demanding at all and our ten year old daughter managed it without any complaint. The fort itself is...More

Thank you for your complimentary comment. After a long restoration that is still taking place, we have installed a Renaissance museum for both adults and children. Finally, getting to the Fort on foot is an experience to do. You will discover a glitzy panoarama. To...More

Impressive fortress built by emperor Charles V to protect Colliure from French attacks. The guided visit provides a very detailed view of the fortress and its use, and Colliure views from the top are amazing.

Enjoyed the visit to Fort Saint-Elme. The grounds and the fort itself have been beautifully restored and the views are amazing. I would recommend the walk up rather than the little train.

Thank you for your comment. Our collection is enriched in permence. the same is true of historical commentaries. Walking is a plus, but the little train is an opportunity for the most tired people.
