A visit to the hall of mirrors literally brings you to the location/scene when you step inside the massive hall of mirrors! It’s a grandiose display of chandeliers and glass windows. When you look out the windows, you will definitely see the picturesque huge gardens of the Palace. But if I were to name it, I would call it “hall of glass” instead of hall of mirrors. I could count with my fingers, the number of mirrors. But just the same, you would say tjj on yourself, “ So this is how royalties live!Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 April 2023
- anastasia895London, United Kingdom124 contributionsToo crowded to enjoyI am a seasoned traveller and have seen many palaces, The Hall of Mirrors must be the most beautiful palace hall I have every seen in my life. However, it was so crowded (I visited in July 2023 before the school holidays started) that I did not feel any special emotions that I expected and certainly should have but did not experience when standing in the room where kings and queens were having ball receptions and noble people had all sorts of discussions. When you see the main photo of this attraction, please expect to be in the room with hundreds of other tourists. While it spoils the magic it is still a very special place and a must see!Visited July 2023Written 14 August 2023
- Dietgirl8 contributionsHall - 10, crowds 1The Hall of Mirrors is a spectacular mix of painted ceilings, chandeliers, statues and light, and doesn't disappoint. What does is the absolute hordes of people cramming into it, making it impossible to enjoy its full beauty - hence the 'average' rating. Imagine a football crowd queueing for the turnstiles - THIS is the Hall of Mirrors on a Sunday morning in NovemberVisited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 20 November 2023

Not all of the Palace of Versailles is spectacular, but this iconic room is a wonder to behold. It is not to be missed and must be experienced to be understood.

Magnificent! Take your time strolling through and enjoy all that is included in the Hall of Mirrors.
Be aware, it will be very busy.

This is probably the most impressive room in Versailles with all the chandeliers and mirrors and huge windows reflecting all the light.

So many people and you have to keep moving so you cant really stop to appreciate it. Knowing the history behind this and how this room came to be is appreciated which is why I wish I had had more time to take it all in.

I was hoping for more, but unfortunately, as in the whole palace, there was a huge crowd of people that got in the way of the quality experience. Otherwise, the hall is large, but there is nothing left of the old furniture.

I will be there in a couple weeks and was wondering if it is necessary to book a tour of the palace and grounds? Thank you!

We purchased our tickets at the palace. 27 Euro’s per person. We arrived at the palace at 11:00 a.m.. We walked the gardens first, Marie Antoinette’s smaller home, and then went back to the palace and waited in line about 15 minutes. The line moved quickly. We went June 20th. Our ticket included everything thing.
