The complete opposite of the places - a model of a peasant village. Highly recommended for families with young kids.

Sometimes we get so caught up with visiting the grand Chateau at Versailles that we forget that there is a whole other world - one of ponds, pavilions and charming gardens - that is just a short walk from the larger palace. This was the real domain of Marie-Antoinette, a place where she could live a simpler life and enjoy... More

Really nice to spend a sunny day in the park having Picknick and visiting the Trianons. Both, Petite and Grand Trianon are beautiful. You can rent a bike and escape everything without walking long distance.

Access to the hamlet and gardens are one of the jewels of Versaille...so don't miss this !!! It really won't matter what time of day, exempt that the train (that takes you back to the chateau) will be full and quite crowded later in the day. Expect waits to board.

This part of the Palace grounds is absolutely worth the walk. It's less crowded but also a sight to see. Great walk!

After Versailles itself this is sort of disappointing. And it is not easy to get to. The best bet is the Petti Train (4 Euros per person)

These areas will seem so peaceful if you are making your way from the palace. The animals in the hamlet are cool and the history in the Trianons is amazing. The Grand Trianon isn't always open but don't let that stop you. Just be aware your palace ticket normally doesn't include the Trianons.

This place was stunning. The main building was under construction but wow what a great place. Peaceful, and beautiful. Worth the whole price of admission. Hated the main part. Make sure you take the time.

We visited the Grand and Petit Trianons, and found them interesting. It would have been more useful if we had known more about them before we walked through, but we neither read up on them beforehand nor purchased the audio tour.
