We loved this, the carriages are very well displayed with virtual reality displays so you can “look around” the carriages as if you are sat in them. There are some children carriages which we found very moving and some very extravagant items. Also entry is free so do not hesitate.

I dare guess that like 75% of the people that go to Versailles don't go to this building, even when some of the tickets include it.

This is a very short but very cool display. You'll be amazed, not only at how greatly decorated some of these coaches are, but how HUGE they are in parson.

This one won't take you an hour of your time. I really recommend you passing there on your way out of the palace

This was our third visit to Versailles and as we had some free time we decided to come here. The coaches were really interesting to see and there was information provided in English. Great to see the coaches used for coronations, weddings and funerals. Would definitely recommend a visit.

This easy-to-miss museum is in the Versailles stables. We might have walked right by it if we hadn't had a horse lover in our group who wanted to see the stables, and I'm very glad we made the stop! There is a lot here about the history of the culture, use, and technology of the coaches used by French nobility. It's well-laid out with signs in multiple languages and easy to walk through at your pace. Plus it's free!

The museum is in front of the Palace. It is not big, it can be seen in 15 to 30 minutes. The collection is absolutely impressive. These Royal carriages date back more than a hundred years ago. The museum is worth a visit.

The Gallery of Coaches is so cool, but unfortunately easily missed. Admission is included in most tickets to Versailles so try to give 15 minutes of your time to this stunning collections!

Often missed in the rush to get to the castle, this museum located in the royal stables features an impressive collection of royal carriages. Descriptive placards and video programs provide insight into life at court. Open in the afternoons every day except Monday. Admission is free. If you are lucky there will be activity in the stables next door where horses are quartered and trained in the same area that was used in the days of the court. Highly recommended.

It's easy to forget this additional attraction just outside the gates of the Palace but do seek it out and enjoy the sight of many carriages and sledges used by the French Royals (and Napoleon)

The Galerie is a must see when visiting Versailles. The Galerie is not big, but gives insight in the wealth of the royals. Impressive.

We would have easily walked past here if it was not for a review on trip advisor. Well worth the extra couple of minutes down the road. Amazing to see these beautiful coaches and imagine who had been in them... so full of history!!
