Having walked through the majestic main courtyard of the Royal Stables, you enter a disarming place of luxurious simplicity.Founded in 2003 by Bartabas inside the Royal Stables of the Palace of Versailles, the Academy of Equestrian Arts is a very unique corps de ballet. The originality of this equestrian choreographic school-company is, that it combines both transmission of equestrian knowledge and practice of other disciplines such as fencing, dance, singing and Kyudo (traditional Japanese archery). Equerries therefore gain a true artistic sensibility, enabling them to develop their own repertoire. Through Les Matinales des Ecuyers, dressage lessons performed by the Academy’s riders with their mounts, demonstrating precision, rigor and gentleness of training, the public is invited to enter the intimacy of the Academy. The performance La Voie de l'Ecuyer, choreographed by Bartabas reflects the daily work of this company-school.

The show was lovely, but it honestly isn't anything you can't see any stable near where you live. Save the money and time and enjoy so much more the palace has to offer

Since Trip Advisor did not recognize this site, I had to sneak it in. Located next to the "horse show" is a small museum/gallery that has examples of the king's coaches. Incredibly ornate, not your typical horse and buggies....LOL...and this place is absolutely free to...More

The show starts off with people not on horses shooting arrows at a target. Later on it shows the individuals walking and trotting on horses. They are doing basic moves where the riders are supposed to have an equal distance between them and to perform...More

Unfortunately we did not see the show as 'les chevaux sont en vacances' but we were entranced for half an hour as we watched a male rider work with a beautiful grey in the sand arena in the carpark > beautiful horsemanship on a beautful...More

Horses and mainly female riders (the amazons) put on this beautiful show of the classical art of riding with theatrical choreography in the old riding school of Versailles. The riders are students in a school envisioned by Bartabas (google!) and the students not only train...More

The show was very good, the horses were amazing and the riders were great too I would recommend this show. It lasted about an hour, with a tour of the stables afterwards. Overall a lovely evening.

The show lasted about an hour. There was some parts that seemed to drag on. Overall it's a nice show but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

Seeing the skill & beauty of equestrians, plus the wonderful horses is a joy in athleticism and history. The noble horse carried mankind for eons before our present era. The show was very interesting and especially enjoyed the rapiers en suite action. Afterwards, touring the...More

Very good show, only downside uncomfortable seats that could do with more cushioning!. After the show dont forget to visit the stables and get a close up of the horses.

You should be fine. It's about 1-1.5km uphill and it will depend on the size of the crowd still heading out towards the public transport and exits. Also the horse show appeared to have finished last weekend maybe it will... More
