One of the interesting things to see at Place des Pyramides is the gilded Equestrian statue of Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc). This Historic Monuent is the works of French sculptor Emmanuel Frémiet (1874).

Here you see a solid gold figure of Joan on horseback. She is dressed in a suit of armour and holds a flag up high with her right hand. It is an intriguing depiction of the national heroine that can be conveniently viewed when sightseeing near Musee du Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries.

I always visit this twin statute of the one in the French Quarter of New Orleans, a gift to the Louisiana city from the French. The American statute is an exact copy of the Maid of Orleans who bravely led the French to battle against the English in the Hundred Years Wars only to be burned at the stake for heresy in 1431 then subsequently acquitted by the Catholic Church in 1456 and declared a martyr. She was finally beatifie and, canonized as a Saint in 1920.

Located on a very small square is the home os a very impressive gold statue dedicated to the Maid of Orleans, who defeated the English during the religion wars, her place is on Rue de Rivoli at the very busy intersection of Rue des Pyramides and Avenue du General Lemonnier.

the statue is across from the Hotel Regina (in the middle of an intersection) sort of between the Place Vendome and the Tuileries Garde. It is a first class sculpture of Jeanne d'Arc and stands out where she is but it is difficult to get too close because of the traffic.

This statue of French heroine Joan of Arc (1412 - 1431), which is prominently located in the Place des Pyramides near the Louvre, is a replacement statue of the original one that was inaugurated in 1874. It is said that the French sculptor, Emmanuel Fremiet, had never been happy with the original version and so took the opportunity when underground street repairs were going on to take the original back to his studio and make several changes. This replacement statue was put back on its pedestal in 1899.

Beautiful in the sunlight but not a must see.

Well not much to say about this apart from a very impressive statue.
Was outside our hotel and was very shiny in the sun. Worth a photo op.
It’s 2 minutes away from The Louvre

Beautiful golden statue of Joan of Arc located next to the Place des Pyramids. Fantastic photo stop.
Joan of Arc defended France against the invading English but was burnt at the stake for heresy in 1431. In her re-trial at Notre Dame in 1455 she was found innocent of heresy.

There's identical copies, also golden, in Philadelphia and Portland, Oregon's leafy Laurelhurst neighborhood. I'm told there's one in New Orleans, too. The statue is the right size for Place des Pyramides, opposite the Louvre, and is nicely lighted at night.

I couldn't miss this statue of Joan of Arc in the middle of Place des Pyramides. Its gilded bronze sparkled in the sun when I waited for the light to change to approach for a closer view of this 1874 creation by Emmanuel Fremiet.

The 13-foot-high statue stands on a pedestal and appears to be in good condition. It depicts Joan in armor astride a horse. She holds a flag in her right hand and her face expresses determination. The statue has been erected near the place where Joan -- the symbol of French unity and nationalism -- was wounded during the attempt to take Paris.

This piece may appeal to those who have an interest in statues or Joan of Arc. It is fairly close to the Louvre entrance that is on the rue de Rivoli.
