The museum building and surroundings are beautiful. Quite far from the centre.
Went to see an exhibition by Basquiat which was brilliant. However they allowed too many people in and it was extremely overcrowded. It was hard to get close to some of the pictures...More
The Fondation Louis Vuitton commissioned Frank Gehry to design this exhibition space. It is NOT a museum, it has no permanent collection. The architecture is not one of Gehry’s Best creations. The proportions are unbalanced and it certainly doesn’t fit in well with its surroundings...More
Frank Gerry buildings are exciting all over the world. This one , I think, is the newest one.
Better to get tickets from your hotel or online in order to go inside quicker than standing in line.
I saw Egon Schille exhibition and one more...More
Visited summer of 2016 to see extraordinary temporary exhibit of African artists and their work never before shown in Europe. The building alone is spectacular, designed by Frank Gehry. It has an app to download that helps guide you thru the exhibits. Didn't have time...More
Visited at the end of the Schiele and Basquiat shows. The museum was vastly overcrowded. You had to wait to enter the museum, to check your coat, to use the toilets, and to see the art. Most of Schiele's works on display were small drawings...More
I visited this museum on a Thursday with booked tickets with my daughter and her friend, who are both 24 years old. First, I went there without tickets on Sunday and I found out that there was a very long line and that it took...More
We saw an awesome Basquiat exhibit there. Even without the exhibit, its worth checking it out--the architecture is very interesting and the grounds are beautiful. Buy tickets in advance to avoid the crowds. We took a taxi there and walked back, but the shuttle bus...More
Upon arrival a wonderful building greats you. Once you are in 2 very good exhibitions await you: Basquiat and Schiele.
The in-betweens though are an ordeal: There are lines of people for everything.
To get in you queue (to the point that people were almost...More
Need to be reached with public transport, not by walking.
The architecture is impressive, glass and wood (and concrete). We had the chance to see two shows: one on Basquiat (more than 120 pieces), and another of Schiele... impressive, I have never seen so many...More
Hello, you should ask, the do have time for closure at 6pm in summer. Probably if you do find a concert or an special event it will be open. I do think you should see opening hours the day you want to visit.
