Not a fan of Moreau but had been recommended to visit the musee. It's incredible and full of his work both monumental and duminitive. He was very prolific and well respected in his time. But the studio/atelier space is the highlight. An incredible soaring work...More

Anyone who knows a little about this artist will appreciate how it was a visit to Italy as a youngster that fired his imagination and inspired his young mind; the rest is history. Well it's a good job that he did not visit this dreary...More

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, the museum is in the artist's home and studio. You really get a sense of what life was like in that period. Lots of personal effects, furniture and spectacular and complex paintings on 3 floors. There are cards with...More

A wonderful collection of the art and circumstances of Gustave Moreau. It was so hot the uppermost floor was closed, but what we saw was very well shown and selected. The staircase and the period bathroom (open for use) were also highlights.

Not easy to locate this muse. I would not go out of my way next time. So many more interesting museums to visit in Paris. This artist needed more practice on painting hands and feet. Museum needs more English language signage.

Nuits de musées opened the doors for this museum. Our interest was more towards the apartment and atelier (with a very beautiful stair to the upper floor). This experience was truly worthwhile.

I was curious to see the artist home but the display of his artwork and his collection was the real treat.

Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle
époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades,
and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here,
modern day workers continue to take advantage of the
legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th
century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and
cinemas sit side by side with French bistros
