Went for the Arc Race, brilliant, although next time will fly as not a favourite of the coach company. Super racecourse and well worth going.

First time we have been to this racecourse, and as you walk in the place oozes class, the grandstand is spectacular, the lawns and paddock areas are maintained beautifully, there's unfortunately not many seats on the lawns, could be doing with a few more, the isles in the grandstands are not kept clear, so when's it's busy, it's hard to get a clear run back to the top, they ran out of pint pots, which is never a good idea, on such a busy day, apart from that , it's a superb racecourse, would go back when it's not quite so busy.

Booked the prestige hospitality to join customers and it was the perfect weekend for business and pleasure. Hospitality is well worth it with free champagne, beer, soft drinks and delicious nibbles all day.
The course is simply beautiful with manicured lawns, plenty of food stands and expansive.
The racing is of course top class.
Last attended with the cascade hospitality restaurant also well worth it but perhaps a little filling ahead of 10 races.
Highly recommend experience this amazing two day festival.

Just perfect. Lots of bars, food, places to sit. France galop have made a big effort to get it right and they have succeeded.

Considering the greatest all age mile and a half race is run at this track, the place is awful.
In the winning post enclosure, there were no spirits on sale at any bar, just three types of beer.
The food choice is two types of bread roll.
Little fontwell race track has better facilities.
Six of us went and no one will go back.
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

We attended the 2021 Prix De L'Arc De Triomphe race at Longchamp and were charmed by the beautiful setting and the excitement of world class horse racing. It was spectacular and we hope to go back again. The new grandstand is truly a gorgeous world class building worth seeing on it's own. We highly recommend it.

Racing Breaks do not communicate with their customers once they have your money. I have been trying to get a refund off them from 2020 for 7 tickets I purchased for Cartmel Racecourse.Do not book with them.

Initially worried about what I had read about struggling to get bets on and places to eat in the racecourse, well I worried about nothing, no problems at all , all weekend , will definitely be going again. What a atmosphere

I was headed to the races on Sunday, specifically the 98th running of the Qatar Prix De L'Arc De Triomphe held at Longchamp horse racing course in the Bois de Boulogne.
The metro took me to Porte Maillot which sits at the top of the Champs Elysee/Blvd. Charles DeGaulle, a ten minute ride. From there I hopped onto a shuttle bus provided by France Galop, France's racing bureau. The park is huge (really :)) and the ride through it was very enjoyable. At the end of the day, a shuttle bus and metro ride had me back in my apartment in 30 minutes. The US could learn a lot about how to run a large event like this from the French.
The first thing you notice is the people - almost all are dressed to the nines. Gowns, party dresses, suits and ties were the staples - take a look at the collage to see some of the finest, including the women's hats, many of which were as lovely as they were unique. Since an Englsih horse, Enable, was going for its record third win of the main event, the Prix De L'Arc Triomphe, the Englsih were a strong second nationality in attendance with Asians coming in a distinct third and I did not see another American although I am sure there must have been many there.
French horse race betting is different than in the US. There are all kinds of combinations and 'special' bets and some very unusual rules, for example, there are horse from all over the world in the races so if you pick a horse from one country, you automatically are given a bet on any other horse in the race form that country. So, you could lose - but win!
There were eight races that day but, unlike in the US, the main event was not the last race of the day, but rather the 4th. I do not know if this was unusual but it did serve a great purpose - lots of people were there for this race, only, so placing it in the middle of the day meant that the crowd had thinned out considerably by the end of the day. The shuttle buses ran from after the 4th race on so when I caught one, there was no crush of people.
Betting was made as easy as possible: bet-takers roamed the crowd and were stationed everywhere to supplement the betting machines and usual methods. Many of the bet-takers spoke English and this helped me a great deal since, as I said, French betting is very different than our system. Result - they made it a lot easier for me to lose my money.
The winner of the day was the great food - they had food of all kinds, from all regions: Middle East, Asian, Mexican, Italian, American, English and, of course, French. You could eat a pizza, have some dim sum, fish and chips, tacos, French pastry - and the drinks were plentiful from beer to champagne. In fact, I have never seen so many bottles of champagne being consumed (Veuve Clicquot at 75 euros a pop - $82.40).
Oh, the horse races - right, the reason why we were all there. Each of the races was exciting since all were close. In the main event, Enable had the lead coming down the stretch but another English horse, Waldgeist (Forest Spirit) overtook him in the final few lengths. In this video you will see another difference between this race and US races - the horse leave the paddock and are galloped around the course to the starting gate. I love this announcer's call, although I didn't understand one word - it just sounded exciting.
So that was my weekend in Paris - hope you enjoyed reading about it as much as I did doing it. Bonne journee!

First time here in 2019 for the prestigious racing weekend. Disappointingly few people there on Saturday which affected the atmosphere but meant we could check out the facilities for our return for the big race day on Sunday. Much better atmosphere on Sunday. Race goers were dressed very casually on Saturday and even on Sunday, jeans were acceptable in 'the Tribune de l'Arrivee Or' area. Was nice to be allocated a seat in the stands to watch the racing, especially as we booked early and were on the front row. Drinks were quite expensive and expected more food outlets and restaurants. Was nice to be able to leave drinks on a table in the bar, go to watch a race and come back to the table again afterwards. Met some interesting people while sharing the table. Security was lax on both days, as when we arrived on foot, we were able to join the queue for the entrance gates before we reached the security checks.

For The Rolling Stones concert on 7/23/22 does anyone know if CAT 1 tickets are actual seats or a spot to stand?

Hi, In 2018 , there were huge complaints about the toilet access and facilities. Did you feel this was an issue or not? We have been many times to the ARC and enjoyed Chantilly very much but reviews of the rebuilt Paris stand are extraordinarily mixed

Never been to longchamp before and the weather dosent look that good at the moment got tickets for the grandstand was wondering if there is any where to go inside
Hi I’m going for the first time to the Saturday races. We have only booked the Jardin. How should I dress and would I have a better experience if I upgraded to better tickets? Is it very busy on the Saturday usually?

We are going on an organised trip and the ticket is for the centre of the track in the arc village however we have bought tickets for the arc garden English quarters. Can we transfer on the course by crossing the track or do we have to use the turnstiles

Not sure. Last year you could not but they have changed things this year after heavy criticism. They now sell a ticket called Pelouse which is 65 euros ( double the 'village cost'.) This allows you access to the lawn on the grandstand side of the course which is probably where you want access. You will probably have to clarify this with France Galop. We are going again this year with our fingers crossed!
could you go in shorts and a t-shirt into longchamp racecourse

Hi I am going to Longchamp for the Arc for the first time this year, what do people normally wear seeing as it is October? Just wondering if people dress up (men in suits and women in dresses and heels) or can you get away with more casual? Thanks

Quite casual unless you're going to the posh bits; probably not jeans and sweatshirts though.
