A huge impressive mansion houses the National Archives. I come here for special expos where are fantastically-curated by experts.

Watch for the special expos that happen here and if something interests you, go, as they do a very good job. Otherwise the materials are pretty dense and complicated.

Wandering through the Marais we came upon a terrific exhibition at the National Archives tracing the development of the architecture profession from before the Renaissance to the 19th Century, replete with drawings, models, and historical documents. Highly recommended.

If archives and old documents are your thing, you will love this museum. Paper that is many, many hundred of years old documenting some of Europe’s most important events along with maps and other ephemera.
